My mum had cancer and diagnosed as terminal - they upped the radiation and it cured the cancer but she died of a hemorrhage a few years later - almost certainly brought on by the treatment - so really the cancer killed her but slowly (or did it). Oh .. she also swore the cancer was a result of Chernobyl (not sure of that but it was a type that is usually caused by an environmental thing)

They've had the Mitre pub on TV a number of times from up there - it must be following rules or the journalists wouldn't all be there - would they .

Yet if I'm right (not sure) we can work in the Republic of Ireland (but not get citizenship) with no permit and this will go on whatever happens with Brexit - and vice-versa. It's called the Common Travel Area (CTA) and would almost certainly be there for Scotland too - some still talk about a Celtic Nation (Ireland+Scotland+Wales) maybe Cumbria and Cornwall too :) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/common-travel-area-guidance

To be honest was reading an article on American cuts of meat and I thought the same - I shouted where's Rump and what are all these silly names. But it's all genuine and professionals should know the various names of all cuts. My mother wouldn't have taken it I know - I remember her in MacFisheries causing trouble.
  5. I thought if you keep in another room it's OK Exemptions from gatherings limits in all tiers as part of a single household, or a support bubble for work or providing voluntary or charitable services, including in other people?s homes https://www.gov.uk/guidance/local-restriction-tiers-what-you-need-to-know#very-high-alert
  6. I suspect restrictions will be kept for a while after the vulnerable are vaccinated on the basis it might mutate to something the vaccine doesn't touch if it's given a reservoir of young people to mutate in so we will wait until it's fully eradicated - that'll be next summer IMHO. Just my reading of the science and government and comments on news channels.

"The succession of conflicts known as the Hundred Years War ended on October 19th, 1453, when Bordeaux surrendered, leaving Calais as the last English possession in France" This seems strangely modern "King Henry VI of England began to go mad, England sank into civil war and France once again became the leading European power, entering a period of economic and demographic growth." https://www.quora.com/Who-won-the-Hundred-Years-War

If I said you could give me all your money to look after and for the overwhelming Majority of people I'll give it back with 5% interest next year, would you take the risk you weren't in the minority who'll lose all their money.
  9. If they were 12-16 we're talking child abuse (It's like a scene from Oliver as described above - Fagin style - I notice they are putting themselves and others at risk) How should we deal with children like this now ?
  10. Reading Huffington Post and they say the "Walk across broken glass" comment which supposedly comes from No10 is actually a reference to Kristallnacht. Going pretty low. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/brexit-merkel-kristallnacht-mail-germany_uk_5fd631ffc5b62f31c1fe12a8?ncid=tweetlnkukhpmg00000008&guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly90LmNvLw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAN1g51arII0tr-WAjlVocrx93DaYHmkVxhgceaeB2LZMJSEWM6pbeABHaD69maFczgUeJh-rklBlgLDift8R7xRRktVnvUXnHI4uQ7yp9Qkj42p_0bkOMa1XI0t_XgZY7mSMn4uD3XEFnnDhJ7k12KIjMGGEOfgx2lfYW9Flidv1
  11. No - I visited 4 times a week before March and never since. I buy 48 packs of Brewdog and BeerHawk beers instead
  12. One almost ran over my foot yesterday so I put a trap exactly there with a peanut and Mouse caught.
  13. I wonder what the Government can and can't foresee based on their record of foreseeing things. The EU countries in general think we are totally unprepared with no idea what may hit us.
  14. They're blaming Merkel because she's a Lutherian now and in the words of the Express Editor on Sky News "doesn't like the cut of Boris's libertarian jib". Apparently EVdL is also Lutherian and they're in it together - with no doubt Macron lurking somewhere. Mail saying exactly the same - strange how they co-ordinate stories. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9047055/Officials-say-Angela-Merkels-distaste-libertine-Boris-Johnson-blocked-Brexit-deal.html
  15. As far as I'm concerned Black Lives Matter is a movement not a political group. It's in the first line of the Wikipedia entry. The booers got it wrong or were targeted via social media with lies "While there are specific organizations like the Black Lives Matter Global Network that label themselves simply as "Black Lives Matter", the Black Lives Matter movement comprises a broad array of people and organizations. The slogan "Black Lives Matter" itself remains untrademarked by any group." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Lives_Matter#:~:text=As%20a%20movement%2C%20Black%20Lives,the%20subject%20of%20scholarly%20literature.
  16. I know there's a Nazi element to Swansea's support - one guy has a Swastika tattoo - the club tried to chuck them out but they are somehow still associated with the club and old photos keep resurfacing now and then. https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/swansea-fan-nazi-salute-spurs-15106589 And some are stupid ...... "However, he claimed that he was merely waving at his family in the stand and indicated he was going for a cigarette or a pint." But somehow the reputation sticks with Millwall above other clubs.

Didn't Mogg say 50 years - is that OK I shouldn't comment on 50 years as I'll be 100 and I have no children but it's a long time to wait for something that may not come.
  18. malumbu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes we are all expecting this but should I get a > pint in first, and where safe? I think the rule is sign up online and book a table - take a mask and get your pint served at the table. Only mingle with those in your bubble. The good pubs have someone enforcing guidelines/cleanliness/registration at the doors Not been out (except to Starbucks after a shop in Sainsburys) but https://www.theoldnunshead.co.uk/ for instance seem to be following procedure. It joust seems pointless - drink at home (this is exactly what the Doc told me not to do once)
  19. Someone is taking photo's and selling them to the press obviously (Sky News team got outed by a press photo) I suppose that only applies to the rich and famous - they could print all pub photos.
  20. Apparently he tried to ring Merkel and Macron today .... but they won't take his calls. It's humiliating.

They do say judge a man on his shoes - but I guess Boris borrowed a pair as he forgot his own.

  23. Well the QPR players (when they scored) did a kneel and a black power salute. Millwall fans seemed to accept it that way so maybe it's how it's presented not what it is.
  24. Oh and there's a big rumour Boris criticised Barnier, asked for his removal and tried to play the 'He's French you know - how can we trust him thing' with VDL

My mother did say 30 years later it maybe for the Geisha Girls but I suspect she worried over nothing - you need to look impressive for these trips. But Boris doesn't even care about that anymore - wonder if he's suffering some depression to be honest. and to be fair - Corbyn never had to properly represent his country when something was needed from him - really needed when you pull out all the stops and rise to it.
