    Quilting group

Maybe ask in Really Maria on LL as well. I know they host knitting groups and they may well know of a quilting group.
  2. According to the Southwark website you can either use compostable bags or just place the food in the brown caddy loose (although they recommend that you line it with newspaper first). So no bag required - https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/food-and-garden-waste/recycle-your-food-waste
  3. BYOD is a good deal for the business, can work out less well for the employee. We have an option to go BYOD, and I've swapped back to a company supplied device, because of the difficulty in claiming expenses back for the data and calls that I have used. The long calls to a specific number were easy to claim back but the lots of short calls which don't get itemised weren't - same for data. It was mainly overseas travel where I was getting hammered so may not work that way for everyone.

  5. The Fire Risk Assessments are here: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/housing/safety-in-the-home/ledbury-towers
  6. I got some from the Library two weeks ago, so yes - but stock goes down very quickly as others have said.
  7. And the work appears to be finished. All the traffic controls have gone.
  8. There was a team of 6 working on site when I walked past at 8.50am, so definitely started.
  9. I think this is the entry on the roadworks register. Due to run to 11 August. LR909-238170-2 Forest Hill Road, London. Forest Hill Road on the corner of J/W Wood Vale Works Proposed Southwark 020 7525 2000 Web Site Southwark Reset gully frame and cover & make good HRA around it with full traffic management in place. 07/08/2017 to 11/08/2017
  10. I have one - I use it to cook a lot of all one family meals. If you like your food steamed or stews/soups/curries it's amazing. I put rice in the bowl, vegetables and protein and in the steamer and then make a sauce from the liquid left in the bowl - it's the easiest thing to do and you can basically set it and forget it. My husband is much more a fan of frying and roasting and he uses it like a sous chef - to help with prep. It also makes a mean margarita! If the demonstrator mentioned is Corinne - thermiechef - then I got mine from her too. She definitely knows her stuff and has been a big source of help to me in making sure I use all the functions.
  11. Savvygirl- we are near you and our water pressure has just come back to normal after they fixed the leaks about an hour ago. Hopefully yours is back too or soon will be.
  12. There is a massive leak on the South Circular by Thurlow Park Road - big repair job is affecting water pressure across the area. We are at that end of LL and pressure has been very low since yesterday - so far it hasn't gone off but keeping fingers crossed.
  13. DF, don't know for certain but I assume they mean this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laetiporus
  14. Similar position here - Halifax rather than John Lewis and they did charge me (but not a huge amount from memory). They continued to cover for the period of the building works (7 months) and gave us contents at our temporary address.
  15. Same pipe. Different junction from usual in my recent experience.
  16. They arrived at Overhill Road at about 9.30am - looked like a pretty big team so hopefully this can be dealt with in short order.
  17. Have a look in the Lounge - Fish and Chips thread.
  18. The space round the car and parking space is wide enough to open the doors properly to get children in and out of the car seats.
  19. +1 for Semas. Chips are much better than they were. It's not fancy but decent.
  20. Just driven past. 8 men on scene. Big hole in FHR. Lots of water still running down street.
  21. When we rehomed our two cats, the lady we got them from said that cats change their miaows over time when they get new owners, to reflect the way that the new owner talks to them. I have no idea if this is true, but would kind of make sense.

  23. James, could you clarify whether an actual decision has been made about implementing the yellow lines in our area - from reading the report it looks like the decision has been deferred but would be grateful for your clarification (see my post at the top of this page).
  24. James, is it right that the decision has been made? I may be misreading something but when I look at the recorded decision it says: [bold is my emphasis] This doesn't read like they've made a final decision yet. Could you explain what I'm missing? Thanks.
