  1. there was a mild sense of irony in the 'dramatic pics' comment earlier, only got pics of the firemaen climbing ladders as i had to go to work, the same work that blocks me downloading pics onto PCs. i'll post what i have later. hooray for the firemen, boo for the RSPCA who were called by us and another neighbour loads of times and wouldn't beleive my partner because they coudln't see or hear it and just said it would come down on it's own.
  2. Firemen came, climbed up on the roof, scared the hell out of the poor thing which ran along the roof tops up Landells road and down into someone's garden. Here endeth the parable of the found moggy
  3. fire brigade in attandance as we speak, tune in for further bulletins with dramatic pics!
  4. Jeremy, it's the gap between two terraced houses so about 15 foot max i'd say - this is turning into pet rescue. it's still mewing as i write but i'm off to bed now. tune in tomorrow...
  5. next door's window, they won't open it for reasons known unto themselves the picture's from my bathroom wndow, i've thought of finding a long plank of wood and trying to entice it in. the rspca say it'll come down on it's own, but it hasn't in the last 4 days.
  6. sorry to go on about this, but the cat is (mewing-wise) and the combined forces of the rspca/fire brigade seem a bit powerless. i've attached a pic and should point out it has a distinctive black collar which either jewels or silver studs on it.
  7. i must say this sort of thing sounds completely weird to me. i mean, you're only doing it to the odd person who walks past on the street right? if you did it in ED on a saturday afternoon you'd be carted away. i say hello when walking in the woods, but thats because there's no-one else around, if you're doing it on the street why not wave at all the people in cars? thats what makes it feel weird, like you're singling people out, whcih weirds other people out.
  8. have we really had five pages of posts on cloth bag designs? rock and roll
  9. yes, watched it for a little while. there was a plague of them last year but this is the first one i've seen for some time.
  10. it's in next door's garden and they're out so i think it would need a 20ft+ ladder just to get up there from ours, and i don't fancy tangling with a scared moggy at that height. we'll call someone professional in the morning if it's still there.
  11. you posted as i edited, i just had the neighbour round to check and we're both sure it's ginger, it's hard to see as it blends in with the brick behind it, which makes me a sit surer of it's colour. sorry.
  12. Long shot, but there's a cat stuck on a roof at the top end of Landells road. I think it's young given it's mew. It's been up there since yesterday (we've only just worked out where the mew is coming from). If anyone in the locality has lost one let me know. 07946 346505 www.lostcatsineastdulwich.com ps. we've had a good look at it and it's not grey - sorry claimer.
  13. I know it's se23 but i keep going past the wetherspoons place in forest hill and thinking it would make a great cinema
  14. hurrah - strike 2 for the EDF cat finding service!
  15. I recall being interested in this building before the current renovation - it seems to have been called the Rockbank hotel? Anyone shed any light on it's history?
  16. back on at 4.30pm - luckily i naffed off to the folks place all day to stock up on food and warmth. flickering lights went on for a few days before the whole thing went, and some of the neighbours went 12 hours before us.
  17. bits of the top of landells appears to be gone - an hour left on the laptop battery so quick replies only please
  18. "History of magic mystery and rebellion" do tell
  19. not that, but a friend of ours had a woman knock on their door in barry road early one morning saying she was pregnant, locked out of her house and needed 50 quid. she said she would call the police for her and the woman left, she was pretty sure she had a cushion or soemthing stuffed up her jumper.
  20. haven't had one but am a fan of FJ's, i'll be sure to check them out. the church cafe up at the plough junction do a nice home-made crunchy oaty flapjack type thing for 60p which always goes down well.
  21. At the spa? yes, a really good one with a floor that moves up and down to accomodate different sized people. My kid does swimming lessons there.
  22. I've done Camberwell, East Dulwich, Kangley Bridge but have settled at Beckenham Spa - even though they charge ?1.10 for a camomile teabag and a cup of hot water (but that's not as bad as blue mountain's outrageous ?1.55 for the same).
  23. i would like a tea shop. i'd like to open one and call it The Tea Shop and sell a wide range of teas from around the world. I think it would be a very civilised place.
  24. i was just jogging through Nunhead and I saw gold studs embedded into the pavement slabs. i've seen these on the pavement outside the vale. any ideas what they are?
  25. enjoy nicked the idea from
