  1. Just to add another recommendation for Vitek and his team. We just moved from Peckham to Surrey from a 5 bedroom house with a lot of stuff! And Vitek and all his team worked so hard, were friendly and got everything done as they had promised, with no hassle for us and everything delivered safely to our new house. I would also add that I also got quotes from a couple of the larger more known local firms who not only quoted considerably more, but one of whom was also very disparaging about smaller firms such as Vitek's, basically telling me that they weren't up to the job and I would regret going with them. I'm quite sure these firms would have done a good job too, but would have cost me a lot more and I absolutely do not regret using Vitek and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
  2. Has anyone used VP Removals for a big move? We are thinking of using them to move from our 5 bed house (full of stuff!) and they have quoted lower than other firms but just wanted to check they are up to the job. Feedback from anyone's experience greatly appreciated.
  3. Another recommendation for Mr fruitcake. He just entertained 20 children for our daughter's 5th birthday. They all loved it and were totally focused on him for the whole 2 hours. Would definitely recommend and use him again.
  4. Another recommendation for Steve. Came round promptly and very reasonable call out charge. Thanks EDF for recommending him!
  5. Thanks very much for recommendation and contact details of cleaners. I'll get in touch with a couple.
  6. I am looking for a cleaner who has availability for 4 hours a week (cleaning and a bit of ironing). Can anyone recommend one? Thanks
  7. Hi monkeymoo My daughter has been at the nursery for about 2 years (and started in baby room). She is very happy there and I've always been happy with the care she's received. My son is due to start in baby room before too long, so obviously I wouldn't be sending him too if I wasn't happy with it. I know there have been staff changes since my daughter was in baby room, but 2 of the staff I do know reasonably well and think they are very good. However, if anyone else has given you any more up to date feedback of baby room via PM, I would very much appreciate a PM as well, in case there is anything else I might want to know.
  8. My daughter is in nursery room (upstairs) and I also met the stand in manager today, who seemed very nice, but I didn't manage to get much info out of her, so RenF I may PM for some more detail if that's ok, as I too had been wondering what was happening. Louloub27 - yes Gloria has left as well, I asked one of the others in nursery room why and was just told she got another job but i dont know any more or who is taking over from her
  9. Hi Amy That sounds good. Will see you there. I'll have double icandy peach buggy with my blond 2 year old little girl in the front. Caroline - just let us know in the morning if you can make it too. Helen
  10. Hi Caroline and Amy I had my 2nd baby in mid November and although I have made a couple of meet ups I've not been organised enough to make anything regularly, so am now trying to get out a bit more with my two, so would be up for meeting up tomorrow as well. We are going to diddi dance tomorrow 11-12 but could be at Luca's for about 12.15 if that would work? Would have my toddler with me too...but hopefully she'll be in cooperative mood :o) Helen
  11. Looks like I probs won't make this afternoon either as have to wait in for delivery. But if its happening next week will try to make then...although am hoping baby will have arrived by then as have had enough of being so huge now. But assuming I'm still waiting then 3pm would work for me too. Have a nice afternoon. Helen x
  12. Hi all I'm finally on maternity leave too so would love to start meeting up again. So will try to make it to Dulwich park on Friday with my 2 year old if that's still going ahead...and assuming baby hasn't decided to turn up by then. So hopefully see some of you then. And Jess - thanks for message, I'll pm you. Helen x
  13. Hi all Been a while since I've been on here, so thought I'd just say congratulations to everyone's new arrivals. Hope everyone's doing well. Would love to come to another meet, but unfortunately don't finish work for another 4 weeks, so am out of daytime meets until then. And after that I'd also be keen for some toddler friendly places to meet, as I'll also have my 2 year old with me so if anyone else is up for that perhaps we can arrange one? Helen x
  14. Ok have reseved table on terrace in garden for 2.30-3ish...think the guy might be a bit upset when he finds out its for a load of pregnant women who aren't exactly going to be necking drinks all afternoon but hey what can you do?! Hopefully see quite a few of you later.
  15. And congratulations ellie! Hope all 3 of you are doing well x
  16. Hi Just tried to book table at rye but they're fully booked with lunches...but the guy said if its sunny we should get a table in garden and if i phone in morning he will try to reserve us one. But if its raining then we won't get a table. Weather forecast looks pretty good so guess we should just hope for sun and i'll try to call in morning and book....and if it rains we may have to think again. Helen xx
  17. That's good for me too. Do you think it's worth trying to book? It can get v busy in the Rye with sunday lunchers all afternoon....if I get a chance later I'll try to give them a call. Looking forward to seeing everyone then. Helen x
  18. Hi all Thought as we were getting nearer to the suggested dates (and I'm a bit bored at work today) I'd take it upon myself to add up the votes for each date and see which one works best. So if I've counted up right there are 10 people available for the 4th (sorry don't know everyone's name so have to go with some usernames): - Emma - Gebbjane - Stacey - Philiphenslowe - Hannah - Pozee - Caroline S - Dreamaholic - Norfolkvillas - fiona_m And 13 for the 12th: - Me (Helen) - Ellie - Pearcesa - Emma - Gebbjane - Lindsay - Julie - Stacey - Pozzee - Caroline - Norfolkvillas - Fiona - Indiana So guess that looks like Sunday 12th is the best bet. Hopefully with that not too many people will miss it. Anyone got any preferences of where to meet? Clockhouse again? Or Rye Pub on other side of Peckham Rye is nice now its been done up? Or somewhere on Lordship Lane? Not sure where everyone lives so where would be most central. Helen x
  19. Hi Yep lovely to meet everyone yesterday and would be good to do it again. Sunday 12th works for me, can't do Sat 4th. Helen x (due in mid November with 2nd, have 20mth girl already)
  20. Hi all Not sure if I will be able to make the 30th anymore...hadn't realised my husband was out for day, and not sure whether can find a willing babysitter. So I'll have to be a 'maybe' and if I can sort a babysitter I will hopefully see some of you at the Clockhouse. And if not, will definitely try to make the next meet. Helen
  21. Hi all I'd be up for meeting up as well and 30th June should work for me. Agree with Sidney78 that park would be nice if weather's good, but a couple of other suggestions in case it's not: Green and Blue is nice if can reserve tables at back, or the Bishop or the Plough....or the Gardens Cafe can normally reserve room at back if there's quite a few of us. Guess depends how many of us there are, so once we know we could try and reserve a table(s) somewhere....and then can always cancel at last minute if it's sunny and park is looking better? Are we thinking daytime or evening? Either would probs be OK for me. Helen x
  22. Thanks gebbjane for details of jags yoga on a Thursday. Think I might try to give that one a go, as is cheaper than the push studios one. May try to start next week as can't do this week. Is the NCT refresher course as long as the course for first timers do you know? Not sure I'd be up for doing a full course again, but a couple of hours on dealing with toddler and baby I'm sure would be useful.
  23. Hi all Just wanted to join the thread...just had my 12 week scan last week and am due with my 2nd on 16 November. My first will be 2 when the new little one arrives. I was also thinking of starting a yoga or pilates class. I spoke to a guy at the Goose Green Fair today from Push studios and they do a pre-natal pilates class at 7-8 on a Thursday which I think I might try. Is more expensive than the JAGS one, but not sure I can motivate myself to get out of the house on a Sunday night, so thought Thursday might be more hopeful. Would be lovely to meet up with some of you there or another time. H
