Therapy it is then - thanks xx

Has anyone experienced any really good maternity pampering? As I enter my 8th month of pregnancy, I want to treat myself to a few hours or even a day of indulgence. Ideally I'm looking for somewhere local but am willing to go further afield. Any great recommendations?
-
Unfortunately I have double booked myself (stupid preg brain) so wont be able to make it either. Annoyed as was looking forward to it. Like LillyD I'm all for reg meet ups. Maybe we could do a pamper evening or something similar some time, though god knows where we'd hold it what with there being so many of us..? Anyway, have a great night and hope to see you all soon.

Welcome to the club Laura! I have a 4-year old who still chucks a mean tantrum and am also wondering how she's going to adjust. As everyone keeps assuring me, it's good for them to no longer be the sole centre of attention. Anyway, time will tell... We can lament together if you're planning on coming to the Gowlett on 27th??
Tomo , I'm also planning a homebirth. I had Brierley last time who were pretty amazing particularly post birth. Just to mix things up a little I've gone with Lanes this time. I'm just thinking about getting my birth pool down from the loft and getting all the paraphernalia together that's needed. Exciting times!
Hope to see most of you on 27th.

Am squeezing as I type...
Ditto to all the above and very much looking forward to the next one.
Take good care of those bumps x x x

This looks like a great place. Have you been Saffron? I've checked out the website but am still not totally clear how it works. Do you just turn up and get involved with whatever's on at that time?
-
That's actually very helpful MissM. (Can tell you're a teacher!) x

There's one at Brockwell Lido this Sunday. 7am start I think - just turn up. First come, first served. Google it and you should be able to find out more. Let me know how it goes if you do go as I am hoping to do one myself soon. Good luck..

Hello to everyone ... we're like a proper gang now! Can't wait til 25th to be able to put some faces to names. Bee74, that's a great idea about a sat morning yoga class. My only worry is that I'm relatively far from you. To ensure I make the class regularly it needs to be somewhere I can walk or cycle to. I bet there would be loads of interest if you suggested it to the rest of the forum..?

Thanks for doing that BB - great work. Hope the pains go away. I've just been to the osteopath as have got bad lower back pain. She said yoga is the way forward so am hoping to find a good weekend class soon. See you 25th.

Congratulations Sal, a big weight off your mind no doubt.
I'm up for 25th although I wont make it for 7pm as I'll have to wait til my boyfriend gets home and takes over kid-sitting duties. Looking forward to it (never seem to go out any more...).

Scratch that last message - tracked the details down.

Fuchsia, I signed up for this tomorrow but seem to have deleted the details. Could you possibly let me know where it is and what time.. Much appreciated.

Who is around next week? Maybe Friday? I'm thinking of heading to the PR 1 o'clock club fun day around 12ish (it goes on til 3pm) if anyone else fancies it. Not sure it'd be that relaxing for people without kids but if the weather's good we can hang out outside, bring mags, chat...and there's always the cafe.
On a totally different point, has anyone had a really good pregnancy treatment they'd recommend - massage or reflexology or similar?

I've had 2 bank cards go missing in the last 10 days alone plus numerous Amazon parcels that have mysteriously got lost in the ether. I now get important stuff sent to work address. Hugely annoying. Have notified sorting office on countless occasions but nothing seems to change.
-
Thinking ahead, I'd be up for meeting next Friday (12th). Peckham Rye 1 o'clock club has a fun day on from 10-3pm which would keep the toddlers happy. We could take picnics if the weather's good.
Anna - couldn't get into pilates as am not a member. May consider joining though.
-
Hi Lindsay, yes that was me! I enjoyed the class but have to admit I went straight to Gourmet Burger afterwards... I will go next week too (to the class not GB although you never know) so hope to see you then x

The winter babies club is gaining momentum - love it! Fingers crossed for everyone waiting for scans and it's great to see a nice mix of first, second and third time mums.
Welcome home Anna. Like Pippa, I am child free at the mo and will prob use my time off next week to catch up with work and maybe squeeze in a gallery or pedicure here and there, so I wont be around but if anything gets organised for the week after next then I'll def come along.
Keep me posted.
And Anna I have been looking for good pilates classes for a while. Will you send me some more details about the Mon/Weds evening classes please? After getting out of breath walking to the butcher's yesterday (jeez!) I'm off to preg legs, bums and tums tonight at JAGS. 6.30pm if anyone else is up for it. Meant to be pretty good.

Either PR or CP. Have bored kids, will travel!
-
Someone else mentioned it'd be starting at 10.30 over the summer - do you know if that's the case? Might head over this morning if so...
-
Def worth checking but don't fret. I didn't get my letter til I was about 11 weeks.

Room for one more...?
I'm due early December with my second too. My daughter will be 4 and a half by then so a bit of a bigger age gap than the rest of you so far. She's really into toddlers and babies though so we'd be well up for meeting. We're around tomorrow morning although we have just got off a flight so depends what time we wake up. Assuming we're up early, we'll head to Goose Green playground and hopefully catch up with one or two of you then. Bee and Anna I'll PM you my number.
Really glad this thread has come about - the more support the better.

Some fabulous suggestions - thanks so much ladies. Am totally torn...

My best friend has just arrived from Oz. I'd really like to take her to a day spa and hang out (quite literally possibly) in white fluffy robes for the day while reading mags, getting treatments and catching up (we haven't seen each other for a year). I'm thinking somewhere like The Sanctuary but it could equally be a spa that's attached to a hotel so we could get a room and not have to worry about travelling home whilst blissed out from all the indulgence. Anyone been to the Sanctuary? Got any other gems you could remommend?
Thanks...
