  2. Went last night and nearly choked after being charged ?8 for 2 tiny bottles of Kronenbourg. 275ml. Very cycnical pricing. I aked for 2 beers. No other option given. Considering a crate a Kronie costs a tenner I'll stick to my back garden or the more fairly priced Bar Story.
  3. So sad. A lovely guy and best flower shop in ED. Sending love to his family xxxxx
  4. Have just spent a lovely couple of hours in the sunny beer garden with family and friends but have learned that the pub has changed owners today and many changes are afoot including the demolition of tbe children's play area. The Herne attracts so many families and is the best family pub for miles. Not sure why they have decided to get rid of play area...anyone have any more info?
  5. I do a weekly shop at Iceland. On my last visit I was party to a very heated discussion about how upset many customers were about consequences of Iceland leaving LL. According to the managers response within this argument LL branch is an extremely profitable store. I salute the people on here who have not spoken about the "I prefer" but have spoken about the needs of the elderly & low income families who see the shop as an affordable mainstay. There were so many voices in the debate I heard that won't be on this forum.
  6. Large grey planters nicked at 2.50 pm from front garden. Both had mature plants in. Nicked whilst I was in. About 45 cm in diameter & concrete grey. Happened on Henslowe rd. Must be someone who knows area reasonably well as you'd only have spotted them by looking over the wall. If you have any nice plants screw them down !
  7. At around 1.30 am this morning our new neighbours were woken by noise outside their living room window (which they use as a bedroom). When they opened the curtains they found a man trying to open their side window. They gave a full report to the police. Be vigilant people.
  8. Hello, 2 questions... Other than upstairs at the Magdala does anyone know of a good venue for hire to accomodate about 50 people tolerate loud ish music (a band) up to 2am in east Dul/Peckham/Nunhead area? Also does anyone know of a venue in town that does evening dancing suitable for older ladies? A group aged 60+ who are not averse to modern music but don't want to be squashed into a corner by teenagers.... Many thanks
  9. I live on Henslowe and have rung the council several times who do come &.clear up the mess. Its foul and unnecessary as Henslowe has dog poop bins either end.
  10. Hi Owen, We had our Honda CBF 250 nicked a couple of months ago. However we did find it again at the other side of Peckham Rye, had been hot wired and joy ridden. We had forgotten to lock ours to ususal lamp post. Might be worth a look around the area just in case. However a bike as big as yours would suggest a professional job.... such a pain!

Well I guess in that it was self-defeating, counter productive and rather presumptuous. Thanks for that. I put play research because I wanted some genuine help, for some genuine research and if I'd put drag queen in the thread title it would have definitely received unwelcome responses. I'm clearly looking for help in the wrong place.

Hi, Thanks for that. I've read this info on line too. I'd just love to hear from anyone who actually knew of this character and also The Valley Club. Anyone know where it was? Computed...what so upset you about my post???! I think it's fair to ask for genuine responses as this thread
  15. Bike found! Thanks so much peckham rose. Mwah :)-D
  16. Had our black Honda CBF stolen yesterday from middle of Henslowe Road :'(. Must have happened during the day as it was there when we left at 9 am and not there on our return at 6pm. Please let us know if you saw anyone or anything suspicious. Thanks Motorbike back where it belongs and shouldn't bee too expensive to fix. Phew, thanks Mr and Mrs Peckham Rose! Was joy ridden to back of Peckham Rye, not even an egg cup full of petrol left. Little buggers!
  17. Hi, I was a regular customer of Yings, now a butchers, on lordship lane. Does anyone know where Ying had re.located to? Thanks
  18. An inane and clearly insulting poster, so typical of yawn "middle class irony" which I reckon is a cover up for a hell of a lot of racism, sexism and general bigotry... such a shame a talented head felt victimised enough to feel she couldn't deal with it alone.
  19. Nope, lived on Bazza road for 10 years and amazed how it's used to test out 5th gear, seen several speed related crashes...... only saw aftermath today.
  20. Just another incident which proves people drive WAY too fast down Barry Road and traffic calming is necessary. A roundabout would slow things down and a reliably flashing speed camera. I've seen w****ers travelling over 60 mph regularly.
  21. I put my son down for Goodrich nursery over a year ago, sent in the form, added a supporting letter, heard nada. Visited the school and was told I would hear back in July if he had a place or not. I never heard a thing! So rang the school and was told they dont bother letting parents know re nursery places and if you haven't heard then you're not in.It seems a tad er...rude?! Anyone else had similar problems? Are we not even worth a second class stamp?
  22. see what you did there? A bloke asks exactly the same question as I did, not in the wanted section, about a group he feels he'd like to frequent with his daughter (good on him) and gets supportive answers. I asked and got horrible, hate filled invective. Proves my point. Well done you bunch of misogynistic, homophobic, patronising w***ers. you illustrate my point brilliantly.
  23. Hello, Diva did a piece on The Black Cherry as a lesbian friendly bar last year. It does attract a mixed crowd and is probably the most gay friendly in East Dulwich.
