  1. Has by one had a silver trek stolen? There is one in the bushes I Peckham rye park. I?ll direct you to it if you PM me!
  2. My new au pair has just arrived from Spain and is keen to find a basketball team to play in. She has been playing for 10 years and plays a few times per week st home. Does anyone know any good local teamss?
  3. Does anyone have any plans for this already? It?s half term that week so we won?t be able to attend the meeting g butkeen to find out more about the plans and I couldn?t find anything online
  4. Ours arrived yesterday too. I?ll ask her if she is keen to meet!
  5. A retired gentleman 2 doors down from us often sorts out our front garden as he knows we at busy with work and kids. That's pretty neighbourly!
  6. And they had a ?45 bottle of wine...
  7. I'm fairly sure both are the same extended family. And, Lorenzo's is fairly similar in price, quality and general feel... So hopefully not too much change as they are both great places...
  8. I'm wondering if anyone else is having difficulty booking into the fusion cr?che? My 6 month old has just started going and I want to keep it up so that I can lose the baby weight and he gets used to others looking after him. The problem is I can never get a slot that works with his feeds and my toddlers nursery run. I spoke to the ladies in the cr?che and they said they would love to do more hours and suggested I spoke to the manager. I did this morning and they have passed on the cr?che manager and general manager's email address. Am I just a bit unlucky (I called at 9 this morning and couldn't get a morning slot for next Monday or Tuesday) or are others also unable to take advantage of such a great facility? If so then perhaps if we show them there Is demand then they will increase the hours or the staff?
  9. Hi there- we are looking for a cleaner for 4 hours in a Friday. Ideally we would have a team of 2 cleaners for 2 hours as we have small children who need to nap in the daytime. There is a possibility of more hours later In the year when j go back to work. We are flexible on what time of day and could look at a Thursday instead but we need to have the same slot each week so that we can work around nap times etc. we had a good cleaner recently but sometime they would turn up at 9, sometimes at 1 and sometimes on a different day which didn't really work for us. If you are a cleaner and have some free slots or if you can recommend a great cleaner with availability then please let me know.
  10. That someone has lost his job is sad however, we are talking speeds of 36 mph not something marginally over 20mph. This would be unacceptable if the limit was 30 let alone 20. Buses are one issue- I guess I personally expect them to keep to (or close to) the limit as they are a public service- but there is a broader issue of speeding generally on Barry Road and again- we are talking speeds well in excess of the new and old limits.
  11. Barry road is allegedly a mile long which means it takes 3 minutes to drive it at 20mph or 2 minutes at 30mph. I agree it feels really slow at 20 but in fact it probably doesn't make a lot of difference if you consider having to stop at traffic lights etc. the fatality rate at 20mph is 2.5% compared to 20% at 30mph (according to RoSPA) so whilst it is possibly a bit slower- for me it is worth it in residential areas.
  12. Yes would second Kim- she has made blinds for all of our bedrooms and we love them!
  13. I would second this recommendation. I have had a number of treatments now and they have all been lovely and the prices are really good too. I paid ?48 for an hour full body massage which can often be up to ?70 elsewhere
  14. I would really recommend for Ably Glass- a company based in Streatham. We have been totally refurbishing our house and have been very frustrated with lots of tradespeople's ability to give us an install date and stick to it. Amongst these though Ably Glass have been fantastic- good prices, great quality service and they always turn up when they say they are going to! http://www.ablyglass.co.uk/
  15. Weird... He has the same mobile number as you.. You should have a word with him about using your phone number on his website..
  16. It's annoying that they don't just have an all inclusive price. 13.50 a ticket rather than 12 + 1.50. The cynic in me says it's merely them putting the 1.50 through the books as a vat exempt service. Thus not paying VAT on about 10% of their online revenues. On topic the cinema does look great and I can't wait to go.
  17. Thanks everyone. The build has already taken a year and we have been luckily enough to not have to live in it so really really hoping there are no more delays!
  18. Hi there- we have a toddler and need to move out of our house for 2 weeks for building works. We need to stay in the area for childcare. Just wondering if anyone has any bright ideas about what we might do? Lots of short term rentals are for a minimum Of a month. Thanks!
  19. Hi there- I know people have definitely put recommendations for people who make blinds and curtains but I can't for the life of me find any of the threads, so my apologies but if people could send me any recommendations I would be very grateful!
  20. we are thinking of getting a polished concrete floor and wondered if anyone has had one and wouldn't mind us coming round to see it in situ? It's hard to get an idea of what it will look like without seeing furniture/ kitchen etc on it.
  21. And why sign off your comments with "regards, chris" *** hi and thanks to all those that have been in contact ,i have now replied to all your requests and hope to see you all soon, regards chris ** I'm failing to see why you would sign off with a false name, as you've just said your name isn't Chris. Its your Pony..
  22. Clearly... PPS uses the name Chris. He's also going by the name Steve in relation to decorating and recommended by lordshiplanegirl (banned for false recommendations) http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1415090,1416443#msg-1416443 Because Chris/Steve/Pony/PPS also has the same phone number when he sells his bike.. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?9,1392891,1392891#msg-1392891 To be honest, i'd go mad if I had to use three names when people called me on my mobile.
  23. Will your Pony be doing the work you advertise for? Re: need a big or small job done ?contact handy chris Posted by pps 19 August, 2013 18:23 hi and thanks to all those that have been in contact ,i have now replied to all your requests and hope to see you all soon, regards chris http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1164924,1164924#msg-1164924
  24. From the look of the store, and size it should be turning over circa 1.3m or so. That would equate to ?260k wage roll bill at 20% of sales, which is about 10 members of staff + on costs... That's not a bad input into the area, people who will spend in the area, go for lunch, go for a drink after work. Evans also only had 6 stores in 2000, its only in the '000s that they have expanded so quick.
  25. Definitely Brick House... And they do do amazing bread... 45 seat cafe with office on mezzanine and bakery to the back. Good luck to them...
