Hussein and his team came round and painted my flat including ceilings & repairing damage caused by damp. They also did some outside painting and the whole of the shared hallway. They were super fast and very trustworthy - I gave them my keys and went away for the week!! He kept me updated on the progress and suggested a colour for the front door which I very much appreciated. There were a few slight issues which I asked him to come back and fix - he was extremely amenable to doing so, and came round and cheerfully sorted out the problems. If anyone needs a plumber in the East Dulwich area, I can highly recommend Niko. He came round and fixed a washing machine problem for me recently - he did that super efficiently and quickly and charged a reasonable price. A couple of days later, I had to call him again for another unrelated problem with my tap - within 24 hours, he'd diagnosed the problem, bought a new tap and installed it! We received a leaflet in through our door by "Bill's Gutters" - oh good, we thought - as we needed someone to come and fix a drainpipe. I called to book them and waited in on Thursday morning. No one turned up and I received no phone call to say they weren't coming. When I finally managed to get hold of them he told me the guy who was coming had broken his ankle - I'm sorry for the guy if this was true, but a phone call to let me know he wouldn't be able to attend would have been nice. I rearranged for this morning - I sent a text to check he was definitely coming, I received one back saying "be with you in 10 mins"......I'm still waiting 5 & 1/2 hours later!!! No phone call, no text, and not answering calls. Why would they have gone to the bother and cost of printing leaflets and delivering them, when clearly they don't actually want any work?? I'm completely baffled?

I wasn't going to report it but after the comments, I did call 101 and they've logged it and are sending a police officer round on Tuesday. That seems a little superfluous when nothing actually got stolen but that's their protocol. I guess we just have to be careful about having our phones out and be aware of who's around.

Hi all, I was on the committee of the East Dulwich WI helping with membership. The list has been closed for some time as there were about 100 ladies on it. There are still around 80 on it and the current committee has been talking about setting up a second WI for some time but needs other people to run it. At about 10pm last night, right by bus stop H East Dulwich Road / Gooose Green stop, some guys on a motorbike mounted the pavement, came by on the inside of me and attempted to snatch my phone from my hand. Luckily they missed and drove off without any further attempt. But be careful and don't walk along texting like I was! And be very careful if you're walking along on the phone to someone. It all happened in seconds and was not a pleasant experience.

We had a shared plumbing problem between the flats in our converted Victorian house last week and called Aria round to sort out the problem. We weren't sure if it was a plumbing or drainage problem so were pleased that he had contacts with drainage guys too. He came and had a look and then called them, and it was all sorted out very quickly and efficiently. His number is 07739 734895. The charges were very reasonable and I would definitely recommend him.

I agree - we called him from the recommendations on here and he was a) available b) arrived at the time he said he would c) explained what he was doing d) called drainage guys he has contact with as that was what we needed. Very polite and very reasonably priced. Having nearly been hideously ripped off by a plumber once, I'm very wary but would definitely use him again and have stored his number carefully for future use!

A second recommendation from me for Mark. He fixed my computer for me again and was really prompt and let me know as soon as it was ready. I very much appreciate having someone like him to be able to call on, and his prices are very reasonable too. Highly recommend anyone with PC problems giving him a call. Hi all, I'd also like to recommend Mark for pc and laptop repairs. After a particularly bad experience with a company in Crystal Palace I was most relieved to find the recommendations for Mark on here and contacted him to fix the USB port on my laptop. I was really pleased with the service I received. He was polite, efficient, and very reasonably priced. He always answered texts promptly to let me know what was going on (I really appreciated this especially, as the previous place I'd taken it to, only a handful of the 50 phone calls I made were answered and none of my voicemails or texts were replied to). I've been to this talk before and it was excellent! It was introduced very well, and I liked how Simon got the audience involved. He had just the right amount of professionalism and friendliness, and it was great hearing all the examples of his client's success stories. It was a really interesting and amusing evening where I learnt some new things, and I loved the relaxation bit at the end too!

I would also like to recommend Kelly. I had my first spray tan with her a couple of weeks ago before I went on holiday. I was a bit nervous but super pleased with the results! It looked really natural, and gave me loads more confidence on the beach! It faded well, and as Kelly said, I think I got a better natural tan once it'd worn off. Thanks a million Kelly.
