  1. What's the weed underneath the main plant? We have lots of that sprouting everywhere.
  2. Hi, we are moving to Neighbourhood Vets after an absolutely appalling experience with Lordship Lane Vets. Got a huge bill for an operation (over ?100 more than the maximum we were told it could be) and when I asked for a report of what they did in the operation I received a few scribbles. Complete scammers. Vets are as bad as bankers for fleecing the general public.
  3. Thanks all! Love this forum for tips and advice. I think we will go with the cocoon, just for space saving and also as the carrycot may not last too long albeit useful as a replacement moses basket. So difficult to decide but everyone's tips have been very helpful. Thanks all.
  4. Hi, I haven't signed up to NCT but I have signed up to Bump Baby and Beyond with Ariadna Sole which is meant to be good and similar to NCT I believe. She was recommended to me by my midwife and also the sessions are held above a pub so the husband was happy with that prospect!
  5. For those due in September thought I'd point this out if anyone is interested... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1674186
  6. Hi, I haven't signed up to NCT but have signed up to Bump Baby and Beyond with Ariana Sole as these were recommended to me by my midwives. Think they are very similar to NCT!
  7. Thanks devsdev - yes that has been my main train of thought, that I will be disrupting the baby is sleeping by fiddling around with the straps etc. Decisions decisions! As an aside, it's incredibly difficult to find second hand bugaboo carrycots on ebay!
  8. Thank you! Not sure whether to invest in a carrycot or buy a cocoon. With a carrycot, it strikes me as being easier to set down the baby whilst you're putting the pram in and out of the car for example. Also the baby would be fully flat and wouldn't they be less likely to wake up where as moving them around in a cocoon may disturb them? But some people say it's actually very unpractical to carry. Plus a cocoon is much cheaper! Your experience would be appreciated! Thanks.
  9. Hi all, Joining this thread as I am due 21st September. First time for us. Very excited! Nikki I also have my 20 week scan on 11 May (albeit I will be 21 weeks by then). Can't wait! Loving the ED forum for all things baby, had never really looked at the Family rooms but they are so good! Congrats to all.
  10. I can't stand the waiting times on the phone at DMC on Crystal Palace road and also called up today and they don't have an appointment until May! I used to be at 306 medical centre on lordship lane and I could get appointments with them within a week. Is it advisable to change GP's during pregnancy or not? Thanks!
  11. Hi, I am doing one with Lizzie as they are run on a weekend which is much more manageable for us with work! Also I have been recommended Lizzie by several people. Sorry to hitchike on to your thread but does anyone know when may be good to do hypnobirhing course. Should we be doing it as early as possible or is around around 25 weeks OK. Thanks ks! Worried about doing it too early in case I forget the techniques
  12. I asked the guys working there today and they told me its till Saturday.
  13. Hi i have pm'd you but would just like to recommend Tanner, he came to fix our big fence which came down in the winds. Cement and all. Did a great job, reasonable and quick. You can find him here on the forum but number is 07873198504. Ben.
  14. Hi all recommending mark who came over yesterday. It was an easy and quick fix in the end but i wouldn't have known how to do it. thanks.
  15. Hi please can u send me your price list and if you do hot wax xx
  16. Hi we always use rye cars. They are reliable and very well priced and a nice lady always answers the phone day or night! I think they take your card details for the first booking (ours was an airport trip at 5am) but after the first one they don't ask for card details again. very nice taxi firm and i have always felt safe with them.
  17. I live on said road and cycle down it on my way to work. Never had a problem, the cycle lane is not necessary, the speed bumps are completely ineffective. Waste of taxpayers' money and a huge inconvenience now we have circa 6 fewer car parking spaces. Bad idea all round.
  18. Hi all, We really need a builder at 6.30pm tomorrow evening to come and have a look at an attic conversion and let us know how much it might be? It would be pretty standard I think but we wouldn't be able to have a dormer (previous planning permission rejected on this basis). Its a flat that we are in the process of buying and would want to immediately begin conversion works - we'll be there at 6.30pm tomorrow to have a look at a couple of things and would like someone to come with us to quote if anyone is available please. Thanks!
  19. Hi there, I am based on Henslowe road. I am looking at doing a side extension but was wondering if anyone in the area had a similar ground floor flat (1900 terrace) that had converted the side return so we could get a better feel for the layout. Alternatively, any architects who have undertaken similar projects please let me know.
  20. This is not the fault of the NHS. The whole of the NHS has problems. Fact. If everyone on here actually bothers to go on th 11th rather than tap in their message on to this screen that would help everyone more.
  21. hpsaucey - you are misquoting me. Did I say 'ALL the problems are caused by the NHS' i don't think so. Constructive comments would be more helpful rather than aggression. Obviously one of the suggestions which will be made on the evening will be that they do not take on new patients (if this is an actual choice of theirs is another matter).
  22. Hi all, please please come to the DMC Patient Forum which is being held on Wednesday 11th December at the DMC at 6.30pm. The DMC is under strain of ever-growing patient numbers and reducing budget (as is the rest of the NHS as we all know). The issues raised in the above thread are not the fault of the DMC themselves but of the wider NHS problems. The DMC hold these forum nights precisely to get direct patient feedback and to improve the care and service provided to us...not every clinic does this. The more the merrier and you can then contrubute directly to the improvement of our health service. Please come along! 11th December, 6.30pm.
