former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
Tigres Pride replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi James, Re my previous post, I have now had a 2 responses to my emails to NHS England from a Wilby Phoebe (Case Officer,Complaints & General Enquiries, Customer Contact Centre) and they have passed my comments to "The South London Area Team's Primary Care Contracting Team. They will, supposedly, contact me direct! On the second response they actually quoted me a reference no. -
former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?

Hi James, I spoke to Dr Sarma on Friday and it wasn't his idea to close the surgery on his retirement. NHS England were the ones who told him that the surgery would close on his retirement as there would be sufficient cover in the area for his patients. He is as much upset about this as his patients but his own health needs led to his retirement plans. I have already sent 3 emails to NHS England on this matter but as yet have had no acknowledgement from them. Perhaps you could try and maybe succeed, where I failed, and get some sort of response? -
I have been looking through NHS England's site, and came across the attached Summary Document entitled "Putting Patients First", It makes interesting reading especially the end section "What we stand for", particularly in view of the fact that we were neither consulted on nor informed about any impending closure until now when they claim it's a done deal. Can I suggest that as well as signing the petition, we, the patients, also bombard NHS England with emails voicing our dissatisfaction with the way this closure has been handled and our worries about registering with other surgeries in the area given the poor reviews that have been written about them on this forum?

Horrified to read this. Do you know when it's due to close? I've been with the surgery since the sixties and my family are also with him. If indeed the surgery closes, what are all the patients supposed to do? From reading the comments about all the other surgeries in the area, I don't think I would like to sign up with any of them!!! Surely there must be some Doctor around willing to take over the surgery?

Strange Otta, but I well remember sitting, having picnics, throwing frizbees and playing rounders on the "Green" whilst listening to some of our then crowd playing guitars and drinking Scrumpy and that was in the 60's and 70's. Not so recentish, I think !!!! -
This looks so simple yet so practical, especially if you have to take a toddler's hand to cross a road.

I would imagine he has been put on an emergency Tax code (with an X on the end). Usually 1 of 3 things will happen. 1) they will adjust his code before end of Tax year so he will receive a refund in his pay 2) they will send him an adjusted Tax code for next year taking into account the Tax he has overpaid 3) no tax code adjustment sent for this or next year so he will have to send in a claim to his Tax Office to reclaim overpaid Tax (his work will be able to provide the Tax office name and address and reference no.) At the start of a new Tax year, his work will automatically drop the X from his Tax code unless they have received a new code for him from the Tax office.

At East Dulwich Hospital is the East Dulwich Primary Care Unit with Dr Sarma and Dr Marks Tel No 020 8693 1844. I and my family have been with them since they moved in from Maxted Road and have always found them to give excellent medical service.

Just sorry I'm going to miss the carol singing due to Winter stomach virus -
1.10 pm today in Morrisons Peckham, tempers frayed in 1 shopping queue and a pushing match ensued. Must have got messy cos EIGHT police vehicles turned up (either that or there was nothing worth watching on telly after lunch, in the police canteen)!!!
