  2. I think The Actress in Crystal Palace Road they showed the rugby last week when I was in there. Hope this helps.
  3. FHT has a DJ friday and Saturday nights and once a month has a live band. Forest Hill Road. 63 bus stop outside. Open till late to dance the night away.
  4. My husband would have done the say and I would'nt let them get away with it either. Well done Jogger.
  5. Thanks James will contact them today thats if there is anybody there due to the bad weather.
  6. Thankyou. Will try to get to Tescos, meanwhile I will contact the environment team as well.
  7. Unfortunately, I did not have any clear sacks. Does any body know where I can purchase them. If the dustmen had shaken the black bags they would have heard the sound of bottle tins cans etc. Since the recycling first started, I have always done it this way as the blue box is not big enough for our requirements.
  8. Collection day for us I put 3 full black bags on top of our green wheelie bin of recycled stuff the dustmen went straight passed and didnt take them. I ran out of my house and called them back .The Kerb Manager said "what is the problem madam" I said "you have not taken my recycling stuff." He replied "we don't take black bags". I said " my blue box is not big enough for all our recycle stuff." " Ok we will take them today but they need to be in the blue box next week". By the way the reason we put them on top of the green wheelie bin was the fact that we were trying to be helpful to the dustmen rather than reach over on a snowy and icy wall part from the fact they would not have noticed them if they were on the ground behind the wall.
  9. I agree with previous comments and mine earlier in the thread about converting the blue box to the green wheelie bin it just makes more sense and a lot tidier. My blue box is already full and its only Saturday morning.
  10. We are still struggling in our household with the amount of recycling for the blue box. This morning at the front of our house was 3 black plastic bags 1 full blue box paper and cardboard boxes which all would have fitted into the green wheelie bin and looking a lot tidier than being wrecked by foxes and cats last night (mess everywhere). We park our cars in the drive and we are very concerned about our tyres from the broken glass. We have nearly run out of the green small recycling bags for unwanted food. Telephoned Southwark Council today and they said they will be despatched out on the 17th December. We have five bags left what do we do after that - Southwark Council said ring again when you have run out.
  11. More boxes I dont think so what more clutter in our front gardens when we have one very large green wheelie bin to do the job rather than having overflowed items all over the ground where the foxes attack it.
  12. I have just come back from the pool this is my third session in a week there is nothing wrong with the pool it is fantastic stop moaning everybody and get down there for a swim. I did notice one person standing on the side still saying its cold get in the water quick and do some lenghts you will soon warm up. This has definately got my vote.
  13. I think Southwark Council have got there wires cross with the bins in our household the blue box is always over flowing with recycled items. Surely this type of recycled stuff should go into the green wheelie bin then we would'nt need the silly little blue box or boxes. Our front garden is now looking like a recycling centre. This new pilot scheme will not work. Are they trying to get rid of wheelie bins now, it must of cost all of us a fortune using our council rates. When they do eventually take away the green wheelie bin what are they going to do with them.
  14. Just got back from an adult swim at the new Dulwich Baths really good. Really like the interior they have done a good job 3.80 to get in lockers are 1.00 refundable. Everybody down there really helpful. Well impressed with the new revamp.
  15. If you go into the Herne Tavern the tap water plus glasses are on the bar waiting for you to help yourself. Why bring your wallet or purse out.
  16. The Herne Tavern was a good local pub until the gastro took over with screaming children running around. Good cheap food juke box with all 60 70 80 music. The locals that went in there were like family everyone got on with eachother. We all joined in with what ever went on.Those were the days. Bar snacks - walkers crisps scampi fries - roast potatoes cheese and biscuits on the bar. Lots of other entertainment such has race nights fancy dress well I could go on for ever. Bring back the good old local. Pubs are all boring now - there all following each other. Majority of these people who use these gastros now hardly spend any money there glass of tipple is tap water. Bring back the traditional local.
  17. Here here and the bits of kids they have in these pubs serving behind the bar who are not trained in even knowing how to pour out a decent pint and to give you the correct glass for the drink is appauling.
  18. Me too I think it is an open invitation for somebody to cause damage to something or someone. Any way glad you are ok steph72.
  19. Hi does anybody know what they are filming in these two roads today. The lorries are in these two roads.
  20. What is wrong with the Forest Hill Tavern this is our local it is far better than the Herne Tavern over priced and have ruined the garden. Interior needs updating and cleaning.
  21. Try the launderette in Forest Hill Road sorry don't have the number but they do ironing as well ask for Lynn.
  22. What about the Bridge in Kangley Bridge Road near Sainsbury save a centre or there is one at Grove Park just up the road from this one very nice inside.
