  1. Mark...prepare for you to be outed on Twitter. Or at least calls for "Who is Mark" "Can the real Mark stand up". I AM MARKUTUS
  2. I'm sad to report Cyprus lost in the last 5 minutes against Croatia. Relegated a tier in Division 3 Europe South. They will bounce back. I see The Cherrytree is showing Lions Games. I'm around for 1st Test. Second Test in Scotland for my nieces wedding. The entire local 1st 15 and possibly some internationals are going(unless called up for Lions) my niece is worried for her wedding day....
  3. I'm sure there is a market for it somewhere. Don't know why but reminded me of that story of the Italian woman who tried to repair that ancient biblical painting a while back... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1818038
  4. MM said: "Tried again last night - I really just don't get why its "funny". See also Mrs Browns Boys.
  5. I'm off on a somewhat niche rugby trip next week. Head to Cyprus to watch them play Croatia in European Tier 3 match...nephew playing for Cyprus so a few of us headed over for the weekend. Bit of sun and rugby.
  6. Next time I'm anywhere near Camberwell I'm going to spend my poppy on a few of their White Russians to show support. They make a mean cocktail so they do. *ETA: The Crooked Well* Never been to Perry Vale, but I will also try and check that out as well.
  7. Bloody Canadians. Coming over here, taking our nests..etc. etc. etc.
  8. I agree with you Louisa. I love the Gowlett. Im only just raising that it may not be the NIMBY 7pm complainer that's all. I, like you, don't know. It does appear that on the Urban75 thread -https://www.urban75.net/forums/threads/the-gowlett-needs-your-help.351768/ the posters are closer to it and give more info on possible causes of the conflict. I live miles away - by a busy road. Id love to live next to The Gowlett. 9. From the urban75 thread. I can kind of sympathise if this is the core issue that's going on. Not if the complaint was at 7pm...I suspect not: "The one caveat with that is that some residents will have lived in Gowlett Road since the days when pubs called time at 11pm, whereas I believe the Gowlett now stays open an hour later than that on weekdays and two hours later on Fridays & Saturdays. Throw in a few pissed people congregating outside after the final bell and that's potentially a much greater nuisance than if everyone has gone and the doors are locked by 11.30" Pretty much this is the core of the issue There are locals who have been patrons of the G for years but the interloper hipster filth that swarm around the gaff in the early hours seem to be the cause of the late night noise - you just have to look at the Rye lane over a weekend to see the impact of these hirsute locusts. A balance needs to be struck and struck quickly - ratcheting up the animosity between resident and business will only result in one outcome now this has been flagged. As to moving next to a pub and bleating, the situation with the G and complaints is not wholly due to newly arrived Clapham diaspora flexing their complain muscles. I would not want to live next to the G these days.
  10. Nothing concrete. Just the tone of the FB profile that as posted by Gowlett, when Johnny unearthed who he thought the complainant was. It was quickly taken down but was screenshotted on The Gowlett FB page. Still there. Then some of the comments on Urban thread above. There is a suggestion that this has gone on for a while, that's all. As I said I love the Gowlett. 11. I love the Gowlett. I do have a sense there maybe more to this than meets the eye. More than a precious neighbour wanting countryside levels of quiet at 7.30. Just have a feeling about it.
  12. We are more a Tennis nation anyhow...
  13. I'm rooting for the return of Chicks bees. #TeamChick
  14. On the roof of The Bishop out the back was always ok. Could get noisy with the AC.
  15. I backed the winner. Wimbledon and The Grand National. Scottish. C'mon Tim.
  16. Is this about Foxy?
  17. We await your taste test feedback with baited breath Jeremy. I like them. Slightly more powdery than Cheddars, but boom, the vinegar does hit you straight in the kisser. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks. Food for thought!
  18. They are very good. Very salty and vinegary. 21. I might find it slightly reassuring if I was getting paggerede at 2.00am to hear sirens in the distance, getting louder. It may even cause the beating to stop and the radges to run away.
  22. Just the double - probably should have done the 2 singles to cover my stake! Id be happy for both or either of them to win though. Delighted to get ?195 if they do the double of course... At the end of the day, tennis is the real winner! ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ?195 with stake I reckon - did you do 2 singles > too?
  23. Just put a fiver on the double. Murray 2/1 and Konta 12/1 at Ladbrokes. No idea what that means regarding total odds for the double. Moan the Muzz and Konta. Positive shouting put for these two (to keep on topic!)
  24. A positive shout out for London. Spent yesterday slowly wandering around the backstreets of the main drags visiting little pubs. Fabulous day with many a laugh. Must get out and do that more often. London.A wonderful place to live.
