The Norwood School in West Norwood. Train from ED to West Norwood then about a 10 minute walk. I never understand why it doesn't crop up more often (or ever) in these threads as it's a good (with outstanding) school, has exam results comparable to (and sometimes better than) many of the other schools that appear on the EDF, and has some of the best value added scores in the country? what's not to like?? well it's not very middle class (not my concern but might be for others although this is changing rapidly) and had a terrible reputation 8-10 years ago when it was an all girls school. It's a hidden gem, trust me ;-)

I know - I can't believe I like it either but we don't have a very big kitchen so we have saved work surface that would have been taken up with a kettle and for some reason it's quite nice having instant hot water without waiting 3 minutes for a kettle to boil! Also the reservoir only tops up with as much water as you have used and then keeps it hot unlike a kettle where the tendency is to boil more water than you need then let it go cool then repeat (well that's what I always did anyway). Still does seem an odd thing to like so much but I can't help it...!

We have an Insinkerator and love it. It doesn't spit water like the Quooker and (I think) has a bigger reservoir. The only minus with ours is that the water is slightly cooler than freshly boiled water from a kettle so cups of tea go cold faster - not really a huge problem though!

Very excited about this new addition but haven't managed to go yet, mainly as I generally have one or two small people with me. At the risk of attracting the attention of the "can't we have one child free pub blah blah" brigade (a point that I am not unsympathetic to but I'm now on the other side of that fence), is it buggy/ child friendly? Would be nice to have somewhere on my door step that I can take said small people to for lunch occasionally when the daily grind of wiping my own floor becomes too much? Basically, do they have highchairs/ baby changing/ room to park a buggy/ a menu that includes cheese on toast???!

We also live on Marmora Rd and will be looking at primary admission for Sept 2017 as we have no plans to move house before then. I had thought that between Harris ED opening, the Belham (?) site of DVIS (is it DVIS?I could easily be wrong), the Ivydale expansion (and is there another expansion/ site shift/ free school I have forgotten?) that perhaps catchment areas might shift around a bit as children who would previously have gone to other schools will now go to them? Or am I being hopelessly naive? It's so frustrating that LA are no longer allowed to actually plan for the number of places needed in useful locations.

As a family who doesn't have much "family time" during the week we are always on the look out for weekend activities for our 2.5 year old daughter. I have always thought that providers were missing a trick by not offering classes on weekends for working mums and dads but figured that there was a reason it did not exist i.e there is not the demand. so in short we would love to see something set-up that our daughter would enjoy. My only reservation for what you are suggesting is that to sign-up for a half-term and commit to attending every weekend is a big commitment that might put us off as like most people we are not free every Sunday afternoon and we'd prefer a drop-in arrangement - not the ideal scenario for a provider though, I realise.

Hi! Congratulations Anja and Rachel on your new arrivals! I'm still waiting - 11 days over and counting? COmpletely fed-up tbh and today my pelvis has completely given up the ghost and refuses to clunk back into place. It's been slipping around for weeks but I think it's completely knackered now. I'll let you off stealing my due date, Rachel ;-) Weirdly though, Vanessa is also my midwife - we joked that the baby was waiting for her to come back from holiday and she has been on leave again for the last 4 days and still no baby. She is back tomorrow and coming to see me to give me a FIFTH sweep - I am wondering what the record is - so maybe she will be able to catch this baby after all! Haha - thanks LHF - me too! Unfortunately there are no signs of the little bugger just yet so fourth sweep here we come?You never know, though, tonight might be the night although after several false starts this week I've learned not to get my hopes up. My daughter was 12 days overdue so you'd think I would know better but for some reason I thought it would be different this time... Re. tomorrow, The Herne pub next to Peckham Rye Park has a music class called FrogPrince Music on at 3.30pm tomorrow. It's not LL obviously so not sure how people are fixed for travel but only a 10 minute walk away. I have not been yet but have heard good things from other mums and thought it could be an opportunity to occupy the toddlers for a bit which might keep them sweet for a bit longer afterwards while we have a coffee? We can but live in hope? If the weather is dry we can always huddle outside while they potter around as the garden there is pretty escape-proof too. Obviously if you are a first-timer or your toddler is elsewhere this might well be your idea of hell so I'm open to other suggestions!

Hi all, I *might* be able to do coffee on Monday pm. I'm now 41+1 :-( so really hoping baby arrives before Monday when I'll have a FOURTH sweep :-(( and definitely before next Wed when I'll be induced :-((( Feeling pretty fed-up tbh and the tyrannical toddler is giving me the runaround although not literally as I can't run - more of a desperate stagger. Her current obsession with Frozen is the only thing keeping me sane as I can at least get 20 mins of peace while she watches the 1st 20 mins again and again and again and again? oh dear? As long as things remain as they are I can make 3.30 onwards on Monday and I'm pretty flexible on location too although it needs to be somewhere suitable for said tyrannical toddler. Anya - thanks for setting up the whatsapp group and good luck for Monday. Hopefully see everyone soon with baby in tow.
