  1. Excellent idea! A bring a car BBQ rather than bottle!
  2. Actually, presuming you decide against the numerous actions suggested, how about you just print off this thread in full and give it to her, should shame her into behaving in a more neighbourly manner!
  3. How about a delivery of sand, that must be cheaper than a skip and you will have the pleasure of watching her moving it when she gets really cross!
  4. I missed the "her" in the first post and assumed it was a her too..... :-)
  5. Set up CCTV / Video camera to catch the perpetrator damaging the vehicle...... have you noticed the assumption your "neighbour" is female.
  6. Completely unreasonable! Stand your ground. If the neighbour wants to park outside her house then she needs to move to somewhere with a driveway! Southwark Council to my knowledge are not leasing out on street parking spaces :-) I can usually park outside my house and admittedly its an inconvenience when I cant, that said, its the price you pay living in London or any town. I actually am quite surprised at how easy it is to park!
  7. Where do little kids from three schools do their sports? I'm at work so cant google it......
  8. Has anyone ever seen the self service tills open? I am begining to think they are for decorative purposes only :-)
  9. and ensure you are stated as joint tenants on said title deeds :)
  10. Remortgaging jointly wont make any difference, its the title deeds that count. Even then it all depends whether the ownership is a joint tenancy or tenancy in common. If a joint tenancy, survivorship applies and the property immediately belongs to the other joint tenant, the value falling outside of the estate and therefore IHT. If a tenancy in common it will however form part of the estate (albeit only the %age of the property owned by the tenant in common) and therefore be included in IHT calculations.
  11. I lived in Camberwell for about 5 months before moving to ED..... The Dark Horse is definitely worth a visit, the food is lovely! Also, there is a Thai restaurant the other side of the road to the Sun and Doves (a bit closer to Camberwell Green) that is really nice too. I can second that Oriental Culture is a very good takeway - and they deliver too! There are quite a few good pubs in the area worth a visit.
  12. Seems friendly first thing (before 7am) ......... same faces and most (if not all) say good morning. Perhaps you are running at a "grumpy" time of day ;-)
  13. Not so frequent in the morning........ only 3 an hour between 8 and 9!!
  14. "El M, who is craig bellamy?! H, I know because some friends of mine had a dalmatian (also they are the only dogs that genuinely smile at humans - most people think they are snarling when they do this, but actually it's a smile).* " *I also know so much about dogs because I used to work at Dog World magazine when I was younger." Weimaraners smile too!
  15. I saw 4 or 5 cars with smashed windows on Melbourne Grove today (en route to the station), didnt seem to be theft orientated.
  16. Thanks for that, will hunt out seedy looking bookshop at the weekend :-) I am new to East Dulwich - is the Fireman's Alley gate the one between the Court Road and South Circular gates? Any idea if that one is open early?
  17. erm......... which bit ;-) I run my dogs there before work and when the gate is closed it's pretty inconvenient having to run round to the village entrance - makes catching the 8.15 a rush! As for the houses, just something I wondered about, no reason :-)
  18. The Court Lane gate was closed this morning when it is usually open, does anyone know why? Also, anyone know what the nice houses in the park were built / used for and why they are boarded up?
