I run a small website selling homeware and gifts, and on 19th November I will be holding an 'at home' event, where people can join me in a glass of Prosecco (in my home in Nunhead) and see products 'in the flesh. There will be products not yet available on the website and discounts for bulk purchases. All in time for Christmas! If you'd like to join me, please PM me with your details and I'll get an invite out to you. Many thanks! Myles.
  16. Hello, We bought a house on Peckham Rye in 2006. Every Christmas since then we receive a card addressed to the previous owner (Dennis Prior) form Trixie. Sadly, Dennis has passed away (when we bought the house). We'd love to let Trixie know, but there are never any additional details. Even though we moved 2 years ago, today the card reached us again as we are still in touch with our old neighbour. If you think you might know Trixie (or if you are Trixie), I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but thought she (/you) should know. x
  17. Thanks for this recommendation. Called Mac yesterday after another tree surgeon (also recommended on this site) let us down at the last minute. Mac was here quoting within a few hours, and did the job today. He and his assistant were prompt, very polite and extremely tidy. (We had to have a substantial portion of an overhanging neighbouring tree removed) Would recommend him 100% and would not hesitate to use him should the need arise in the future.
  18. A month or so ago we got our downstairs floors sanded by Steve and Nichola from Back to Wood. I thought I left a review at the time - but somehow I didn't. We are thrilled with the job. They were sanded by another company 6 years ago and needed re-doing - this time round the job was much more thorough and the results are better by far - I wish we'd used Back to Wood originally. Our neighbour was so impressed she booked them immediately, and has just had her upstairs done and is equally as pleased as we are. My partner borders on OCD in terms of cleanliness, and he couldn't fault them on how tidy they kept things whilst they worked. They are 100% reliable, finished before they said they would and finally (but really important to us) they were fantastic with our 2 dogs, who could have become an issue during the process, but Steve & Nichola were brilliant with them. Got them coming back in the summer to clean and wax all our doors. They're busy, but very much worth the wait!

Warning: New poster here. Hope I don't get bullyed out of the playground! I joined EDF as I thought it seemed a great idea - opened this post with interest(as when I got married at Dulwich College all our guests had to stay in Greenwic) but have been a bit shocked by the venom of Louisa's responses. Can I ask THE OTHER members if this is normal? I don't really want to feed into a forum if many of the other members have this nasty, bullying quality. And I certainly don't want to wait 4 years until my opinion is considered valid. I assumed the point of a forum like this would be to celebrate and make better the area in which we live, but am shocked that someone with such negative opinions would even bother feeding into a community forum. So, should I stay or should I go? And if you see me getting bullied by the likes of Louisa will you stick up for me?
