  1. Try Raquel Cruz. She posts on here and does only waxing from home. I have had my legs waxed by her and she did an excellent job.

  3. Cheese quesadillas made with two tortillas and cut into quarters or one tortilla folded in half. Takes about 2 minutes to make. Can add guacomole if liked.
  4. No Keef, he probably would have got sick sooner and died earlier leaving even younger children.
  5. Smokers of ED, unite. I forgot to mention my boss, who died of throat and tongue cancer, in his fifties, 25 years after he quit smoking.
  6. Bib, Can you remind me of what minority I am in again, because your last post was rather convoluted.

Thanks for the lecture. I appreciate it.

Why don't you put it on the new coalition website?
  9. Ah yes I see now...Helen as opposed to Helena, missed that....
  10. You do sound defensive even if you taking the p***. My attitude towards smoking has changed because I have seen lots of health problems caused (not only to children) by smoking. Lung cancer, emphysema, leg amputations due to circulation problems caused by smoking are a few. I used to live next to a couple who were heavy smokers and the smoke came up through the floorboards into my under-stairs cupboard in my kitchen. It was foul. I could hear them coughing all the time through the walls in the house. The smoke used to waft over the garden fence into my garden. No one thinks a smoking related illness will happen to them. The optimism of youth.

I think some pubs should be allowed to be smoking again (or else have a smoking room) as it would then stop people standing outside smoking. It must be very unpleasant for nearby residents and passers-by.
  12. Wow, so defensive Keef. You and Bob should form a club. I have no desire to write a parenting book. But, while we are on the subject of parenting, I do know someone else who drank steadily through her pregnancy and gave birth to a child with many problems. He was eventually diagnosed with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome. It's very common to babies born on American Indian reservations where there is a huge problem with alcoholism. I don't remember lecturing my friend who had the premature baby. My feelings on smoking weren't as strong then as they are now. But while with her one day she did have a man come up to her in a pub who scolded her for smoking while pregnant. After the baby was born she banned any smoking around the child.

  14. Tim Burton, or was that you trying to be clever again Mr. Hoople?

Your clothes absorb the chemicals as does your breath. Unless you are changing your clothes and then brushing and rinsing your mouth then your child is still exposed to the chemicals.
  16. I used to babysit for a little girl and both parents smoked around her. She suffered badly from respiratory problems and glue ear. The ceiling in their flat was yellow from nicotine.
  17. No thanks Bob. Keef is the only one who admitted to smoking near his child so I was responding. PGC said she smoked while pregnant but she didn't say about afterwards. This is a forum isn't it?
  18. There isn't always wind about Dubluke, except on this forum.

Would have thought having a child would really make you consider your smoking habit. She will still have to smell your faggy breath. And if you smoke in the house, or just outside she will suffer too.

If you admit to smoking all the way through your pregnancy then it is hard to take anything you say seriously about health. I take it you also smoke(d) in the presence of your child. Someone I know also smoked during her pregnancy and she had a very low birthweight premature baby.

  22. I can see you don't get out much HAL9000. Wagamama is not unusual. They are all over the place.
  23. Applespider, the fish sauce sounds a good addition. I put some chopped red chile in mine tonight. I almost bought a box of those mangos from the halal shop last week but they were extremely ripe. Thought they were a bit expensive too. I am going to make a trip to Rye Lane where they will be cheaper hopefully. The last one I bought was an Alphonse from SMBS. ?1.20 I hand peeled mine, the skin came off easily and did the same as KK said - just chopped the flesh on the stone and it fell off. If you don't like the juice then just drain flesh in a strainer.
  24. The buns at Hache tasted like stale dry ciabatta. I was not the only one to think so. Byron burgers are good, and their buns are better although not perfect. It's a far superior chain to Hache. The closest one to here is Canary Wharf or Kings Road. Closest to Camden is Islington.
  25. I don't like Hache. The burgers are indifferent and the buns are foul. Have been to the one in Fulham Road. Why not try Lemonia in Regents Park Rd, NW1. It's in Primrose Hill. Just over the bridge from Chalk Farm station. It's Greek and very meaty but does have veggie stuff as well. Very popular.
