  1. Truly horrific. Being passive or fighting back is what many of us think about by violent theft.
  2. I've booked a session with Elmcourt Clinic in West Norwood, recommended by our daughter. A two-week wait for the slot, though. https://www.elmcourtclinic.co.uk/
  3. Do NOT take it up to motorway speed but replace it asap. I recommend Economic Tyres in West Norwood. They don't look much from the outside but they've always been friendly and fairly priced.
  4. Volcano has exraordinary flavours so a +1 from me.
  5. I thought it was the head of a femur and was preparing to urge you to call register human remains with the police.
  6. I'm relaying what my wife was told so not a joke.
  7. My wife was told that they'd run out of gas. Perhaps we'll all have none this time next week? https://metro.co.uk/2025/01/11/uk-running-gas-shortage-level-warning-explained-22341055/
  8. It was hard to see because it was dark and I picked him out with my headtorch. Perhaps I should be satisfied in thinking I imagined it.
  9. Was there really a cyclist pedalling a Penny-farthing dressed in Santa regalia early on Saturday morning in Dulwich park - or did I imagine it?
  10. Slightly off-topic but I was more amused last week to see a resident on Herne Hill aiming his industrial leaf blower on to his garden shrub leaves, effectively bypassing the annual autumn phenomena that is in fact, a beautiful natural event. We're fortunate to have these important bio-habitats among us.
  11. It's quite possible (note the use of conjecture and suggestion here), the brigade may have used the incident as an excuse for a water training exercise. We'd all hope that when called to something very serious involving say, children, they'd already be very familiar with their equipment - so I wouldn't so hastily be critical of them sending four tenders for a pet.
  12. The Mail are reporting (so possibly unreliable) that it was the brick block on the Loughborough Junction end of Shakespeare.
  13. I'm in no way associated with 'Poached' a few doors away, but the coffee there is way superior than Pret's watery/milky nonsense.
  14. My wife's. We polished the lot off within 24hrs.
  15. Whoaaah, that's some engineering in that! I think however, there's probably some law over here about spraying (spoiler) glitter over the perps. Deserved of the thief perhaps but in one clip there was a child in the background.
  16. Rockets Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jason Statham in and about the village quite a lot > at the moment. .. explaining the squeeling of tyres with the crackle of leather gloves on steering wheels, the other night.
  17. Another vote for Volcano!
  18. The Uni message boards are full of these sort of requests. There are a lot of young people out there needing logistical help so do encourage her to check there.

  20. It still needs reporting to the police and presume you did so in order to get an incident number for your insurance company?

  22. Well, you tried. Perhaps it's best to move on now.
  23. Yes we saw it on the way to Lidl. Indeed, a fast acceleration from the junction before taking off over the hump. I do wonder how far the car made it afterwards!
  24. Hope you get the damage sorted soon. I can imagine the driver loding control over the speed hump that's a few metres away. Given the distance from the junction however, hard to achieve.
