Anyone know what happened on Dulwich Common this afternoon at what seemed to be the exit lane of the Alleynians club on the edge of the Hambledon gated estate and 200m from the College Road crossroads? There seemed to be a large presence of emergency services while we passed-by around 2.30. Looked serious.

That junction is a nasty place to cross by bike - and tricky enough in a car. The central filter lane into Gallery Rd fills up with westbound traffic very quickly. But looking at that Standard picture, the location seems to be east of the junction (you can see the junction lines bottom left) so I wonder if the lady was coming from Alleyn Park to cross into Gallery Road?). Either way, this is very sad, and seemingly more so on one's doorstep.

".. drinking alcohol on the street .." Doesn't sound like an Eid party to me.

On two successive shops to Sainsburys, both Jo and Jenny were there 'doing the aisles'. One looked relaxed while the other (not saying which one) had clearly forgotten where she'd parked her car.

It may be common local knowledge but is it really appropriate to post descriptions of local celebrities, as with Jenny Eclair?

He was often in my queue down at St Saviour's church hall on polling days and saw him with a small car on Denmark Hill where he lived up until a year or so ago. His hair was always jet black! I promised myself that the next time I saw him, I'd say hello and ask him how he was keeping these days but sadly I've left it too late. Happy days on Saturday afternoons too.
