I was initially told by the Southwark Highways team that it was a legal requirement, and they had no choice. However, they later reduced the yellow lines on my section from 10m to 7m, indicating that it was no longer a legal requirement. I did file a complaint and also requested an extended yellow line at one of the junctions with Lordship Lane, as it was difficult to see when turning right. I received no response, and it took five years for that request to be addressed. I agree with your point about my generalisation of Southwark Council – I should have been more specific, particularly when referring to the Southwark Highways department.

The DYLs were extended on my road approx 10 years ago. No reason for them - quiet street. The council at the time said they were abiding by the law and they had no choice. Yet I see so many streets that do not have them - including one at the end of my road. Lies again by Southwark Council!

It depends if the HA are selling them off for cheap though. A house near me was recently sold way below market value and didn't even reach the market. There was a KFH board outside for one day. No one had a chance to buy it. It's now being developed and I guess will be sold at double the price. It would be good if HA's did this and made the profit themselves to go back into the system. I just hope the previous family were not forced out - they had been there a long time.

My son loved the music department at Kingsdale when we visited. He had been playing the Bass Guitar for approx 6 months and so practiced a couple of pieces (Metallica and Arctic Monkeys - very cool!) to prepare and was offered a half scholarship. The school put him in for Grade 1 in year 7 and he then covid hit - throughout the closures he still had his music lesson online and was preparing for Grade 2 & 3. So don't be put off by the grades but agreed perhaps a not so popular instrument might help.

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas/suggestions on the following dilemma. I own Westfalia T25 High top Campervan which I have had for three years and I find myself in a position where I can no longer keep it. Unfortunately, I probably paid too much for it in the first place and now market forces have gone against me. Pop tops have shot up in value, and High tops gone down. So if I were to sell it I shall make a considerable loss on the vehicle, something I was trying to avoid from the outset. So I currently see the following options. 1. Sell it and take a big loss 2. Find some cheap secure storage somewhere (doesn't have to be in London) and wait for market forces to come back in my favor. 3. Work it and make it pay for itself - perhaps by finding a company who rents them out and sharing the revenue. If anyone has any experience or thoughts on 2 and 3 I would be grateful to hear them or if any other ideas come up please don't hesitate to share. Happy Camping.... MFP.
