I'd like to see people around here cook something for under ?3... one Friday night, after a couple of pints. It's satisfying to eat the forbidden food even if the heartburn is hell afterwards. BTW they have the same hygiene rating as the palmerston. Now, tell me what can you buy for ?2.99 at Palmerston. I had a very disappointing burger at meat liquor for ?9.75 Maxine may not be for everyone, but let them live, people.
  2. 20:50 and the noise goes on. I'm not that close to the stadium, but still can hear it.

  4. You can also try Lila's for repairs : www.lilasjewels.co.uk
  5. Thanks mynamehere for sharing this information. Adrian is really great and should I see him I will definitely shake him hand. I would also gladly contribute to give him something in return. I can do gift voucher, though not restaurant or cinema. Keep us up to date if any more ideas come up. Cata
  6. Hi, I'd like to join a volleyball club as well. Can you give me more details on the Peckham Rye one, helenvs? www.getactive.com didn't help. Cata
  7. I think the same with the toddler handling the keys happened in my case. All I know is that one morning I found my car unlocked and the sat nav was missing. The car was parked in the front yard, inches from the window of our reception room.
  8. We haven't had a pleasant experience with Daniel either.

It's about time I leave my computer and go to bed, so I can live and write properly tomorrow. Anyway, we'll be leaving Forrest Hill soon, so maybe my subconsciuos had a word to say in there :)

  11. Hi! We've been leaving here for nearly two years. We've tried installing Sky, but the engineer who came said we stand no chance of getting any signal, so we canceled the subscription with them and got another with the only available BT. In terms of mobile phones, we've tried Orange, 3 and O2, before we finally settled with Vodafone, which has a decent signal in the area. The nearby woods and the multitude of singing birds make up for the inconvenience, though.
  12. What a great idea to have a cinema in the Thomas Moore church. Can't wait for it!! Come on people, hurry up!!! :)
  13. Indeed a loss. I will miss their stuff.
  14. My sons have just past by the filming crew and asked: apparently some commercial for The Sun.
  15. I agree the Dulwich Estate does a good job in protecting the greenery around the area. That's exactly the beauty around here and it would be a pity to build flats on the site of Grove Tavern. Vote for the pub.
  16. I go there for lunch and always appreciate the food as well as the service. I agree it's one of the best restaurants on Lordship Lane.
  17. Hi guys! I'm hosting a Valentine's party and could do with some canap?s. Any suggestions on who might cater for some around the area?
  18. I had the Risotto di Mare, which was delicious. Lovely owners and service, too. Keep it up!
  19. My experience with Daniel and his team has been extremely negative. The only positive thing about him was that he came fast. The job itself caused a greater disaster than was in the first place and despite my numerous calls asking him to fix the trouble, I haven't seen him again. He quoted us on spot, but changed his mind and asked for more; he wanted the money before finishing the job. The job itself (done by his team) caused a massive mess in the bathroom and instead of fixing a leaking problem it just increased it. As the work was done on Friday evening, at the office, with nobody coming by during the week-end, it was only on Monday morning that I realised the disaster. The bathroom was all rust and mud from the pipe, walls all wet, water infiltrated in the carpet next door. I called him straight away and he said he would call the guys and get the problem fixed. No return call. I called him back over and over, he said they would be at my office in 3 hours but they didn't come. I texted and called again and again, he said he would come in the evening (after I had left office), then the next morning, but not a sight of him. I was naive enough to ask him for an invoice before the job, he said he would provide one, but now I think it was just a joke. Note to self and to others interested: WATER SAFE say on their website that over 60% of people are victims of cowboy plumbers, like myself. They provide a list of approved plumbers - www.watersafe.org.uk. I will check this next time. Needless to say Daniel's name wasn't there.
