  1. What happens to the ground when the circus is there every yesr?!
  2. If the council put speed cameras on barry rd will they remove speed bumos on barry junction of Goodrich rd which causes our houses to shake and crack inside every time a large vehicle hits the crumbling hump but the council refuse to admit is the cause and shoo us away with refusals to comebinside our homes to feel the vibrations and simply tell us to go soend money and hire structural surveyors
  3. ..By the way did you contact the teachers at Goodrich in my sons class Ingrid?.....Charlotte
  4. maybe police can do a dna and all the local residents can give dna to clear matter up!
  5. Hi do you have pics of your log cabin and can I have the builders number please
  6. Fusion is a rip off considering it's a council gym I agree E Dulwich pool is stuck in the Victorian era...I used to use that pool as a kid we did swimming classes there over 35 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit...still cold bleak with paint stripping...gym now has massive fans for ac...due to it not being economical to fix as closing down for refurb!!! but it's still economical to keep taking our money though!!! If you have a child and want to put them in the creche then you'd best remortgage your house... Peckham pulse has equipment that is always plastered with signs saying not working..,the instructors work to there own time tables ..lets not even get started on the others across the borough....basically Fusion need to get there act together....has anyone tried the new gym on Lordship Lane yet?
  7. 'tis a pity more of us didn't object to all the estate agents on Lordship Lane all in a neat bundle....we should of insisted they move further up and leave space for some variable business....after all if you want to use them you will travel to them....then maybe we'd be able to park along L L
  8. just made me smile...I remember just having to be home by the time the street lights came home....all the places such as youth clubs etc where we all met up are no longer there for the kids of today.....instead we mums have to spend fortunes at structured play groups and baby gyms etc....where our kids are allotted a time to mingle under structure...not of there own free will...getting up to mischief and having FUN
  9. This was a comment I made on another thread but decided to start a new one to see what people of yesteryear Dulwich think....We've lived in the area for almost 40 years and as kids we had a few more places to mix in the area like Darrell Rd youth club, Brownies in the church at the top of Barry RD, the youth club by the wood yard on Barry Rd or simply just playing on the streets, or going to the woods etc, and trust me as kids we weren't concerned who went to what schools when it was time to play...However kingsdale always had it's scuffles as well as Peckham girls, but in E Dulwich I think we kids were in a play world of our own,...nipping in and out of each others houses, going to the youth club in E Dulwich Estate and the open air playground on Dog Kennel Hill.....sadly there's nowhere for the E Dulwich kids to go and mix today....the streets are not safe, and even when they go to the park they have to be escorted by mums, and you hardly see kids walking and talking on there way to school in groups as they are all escorted in big cars...we used to walk from Barry Rd to Dulwich Village school without parents...as a mum now, I often feel sad for my young child, and the lack of fun, uninhibited , carefree times he wont have, forging strong friendships and building heart warming child hood playtime memories, without being overshadowed by his mom!

  11. ok thanks guys...so I did the right thing by leaving a note on the door saying that these premises have been repossesed by....as of...in conjunction with court case number....at..court and in attendance with a court baliff...please note you have 10 days to make arrangements to collect possessions after which they will be dispossed of....but isn't it a bummer that tenant has known this action was pending and drawing ever closer and even still has not made adequate arrangements and still causing problems...amazing how the council eagerly try to get us to house people but when it's time for them to go and we do it all legal and correct we still have further hurdles to cross at great expense...
  12. I have legally evicted a tenant and the baliff attended whilst locks were changed on Tues but tenant has left all possessions and says they are trying to get housed by council but I need to leave the country and secure my property but when I ring tenant to request they come for there belongings they have a million and one excuses as to why they cannot...what can I do as I need to fly out by Sunday...please any suggestions apart from throwing there stuff on the street and getting myself in a legal war...
  13. All those caffeine induced E Dulwichites bopping in and out of those gadget laden dens up and down LL...please not another coffee shoppee...why not a juice bar...fresh fruit smoothies, mango juice etc...there's a juce bar in Herne Hill which is also a West Indian food shop...in the window a great display of fresh fruit to juice such as paw paws, womangos (mangos!)bananas etc...that's it!.. combine the two just the same as...except make the service a bit quicker and livelier than Jerk Rock and not so far up Lordship Lane...sadly probably have to charge ?20 a glass or for a peice of jerk pork just to cover the astronomical rents!!!!
  14. When I used to go to Waverley school almost 30 years ago the cactus' in the green house on Dunstans RD were there then and almost just as large although not busting out of there housing so they must be pretty old....never seen who owns them though....
