John Terry's been getting a lot of stick in the papers today. Wouldn't it be funny if he was dropped against Slovenia. It would be worth it just to see his face whilst sitting on the bench. Like a bulldog chewing a wasp I should imagine.

Whatever the excuses wheeled out by the media about England's performance, the most basic problem was their passing, movement and first touch. It was very poor on the night and even if these players are a bit over-rated I'm pretty sure their passing and touch is much better then they have displayed. I have coached youth football for 10 years, and if I had of given the England team the half time team talk I would have focused on simply trying to get them to concentrate on their fisrt touch and to pass the ball accurately and be patient and not always try to force the play every time they did get a passing opportunity.

Sadly I think some teenagers nowadays probably carry knives to protect themselves from other teenagers who carry knives. In other words it's an arms race. It's wrong and two wrongs don't make a right but there you go.

One of reasons the IRA was planting bombs in England was because the British army had occupied Northern Ireland and the catholics were being victimised by both the British army and the Ulster protestants.

This is a bit left field, but I always wonder why no international squads gamble on only bringing 2 keepers so that they can have an extra outfield player? I can't recall ever seeing a time when England had to use their third choice keeper. It would be a gamble, but a calculated one. Still, don't listen to me. I don't think there should be a defensive wall when the opposition have got a free kick outside the area so what do I know.

I'm glad England have been so poor in the friendlies. We usually go into major championships looking like worldbeaters and end up leaving them looking like pillocks. Hopefully those roles will be reveresed this time round.
