  1. Have to agree about how strange it all is. I haven't been to the 1 o clock club since all the works started as it just looks too much of a building site and doesn't have enough space to keep a 4 year old happy and a crawling 11 month old safe but walked past the other day to see the lack of fencing on the new play area and the size of what the old 1 o clock club will be... It seems that this could help to accelerate the end of the 1 o clock club for lots of us as will be very crowded packed into that tiny space and a little bit unpredictable with the water and forever opening gate.. Well done Southwark, another master stroke in children playground planning... Lambeth has much better facilities..
  2. Last year they were open mon, wed and fri mornings in the summer holidays so probably true...
  3. My 11 month old has always had little interest in breakfast and especially being spoon fed, I have tried all things and sometimes she eats something and other times she doesn't.. I like to think she knows what she is doing by now so leave her to it and she will be staving by 11.30 so has a huge early lunch.. Current breakfast is milk soaked raisin filled shredded wheats and dairylea on a crumpet plus bits of fruit.. My son was a huge breakfast eater and still is, she obviously is not...
  4. Yep, Bye Bye Ratty.... Where exactly are you off to????
  5. I asked at reception if they wanted them last week and they said the collection date had passed and they have sent them off already
  6. I've only ever had coffee in there when baby was small, certainly would never feel comfy taking the 4 yr old in there, never really noticed the service tbh.. I always think the cakes look decidedly average and very overpriced hence have only tried them once- mine look tastier than that.. It's a shame as it is by far the largest cafe around.. Homemade on Barry Road has nice food, cake and coffee but no space- shame it's not the other way round..
  7. I agree, took my little girl to Florida at 6 month with 3 other older kids and she was by far the easiest and most adaptable in all aspects. She was breastfed so I just delayed weaning until we got back. It's only as complicated as you want to make it..
  8. i've got an unworn sainsburys one that should fit the young boy..... my boy is not too keen on fancy dress but i keep buying them just in case...
  9. Thank you for pointing that out Ratty, I LOVE IT..
  10. It is pretty rude to think you can reserve a space by doing that especially at busy times so I think you were within your rights.. Bit different if she had just nipped out to the loo or something and you had nipped in etc.. Public changing rooms are just that..
  11. I have never used it, only enquired about it and was told it is only open 9 till 1 and although you can use it when you are not a member you cannot pre book it which can be an issue for babies as they can only have 3 at a time.. This has put me off trying it out as don't want to psych myself up a bit of exercise and then find out that the cr?che is full (any excuse really!!) No comment to make on the buggy incident but I guess it must be difficult to look after children you don't really get a chance to build up relationships with..
  12. I have a single and low it.. When was looking to buy I tried out a double and was pretty amazed at how light and easy to move it was with a huge 4 year old and a 6 month old.. The P&T is a serious piece of kit whereas the jogger is far more lightweight.. I also have a maclaren quest which I hate and a Bugaboo chameleon that the jogger stamps all over in terms of practicality.. If I needed a double I would go for the jogger..
  13. If you can afford it and want it do it.. Its not the 1950s and stay at homes have just as much right to a cleaner as full time working mums.. Plenty of women out there who want to support their family by cleaning another woman's home.. Don't see it is even a discussion point, it's a personal choice dependant upon finances and inclination I would say..
  14. Are they really 120 places short to need 4 bulge classes in such close proximity.. Very thankful I got a place this year.. Has Dog Kennel Hill ever bulged and surely that is the only one left for next year if it hasn't.. No pearls of wisdom for which school to chose as it's a very individual choice and one parents great school will not necessarily be anothers.. Go to the schools and get a feel for them to make your choice.. Good luck..
  15. We flew to the US in feb with car seat in hold for 6 month old and it came out perfectly at other end, no padding idea just made sure it was all clipped down and straps secure...
  16. We took away my little boys pull ups 3 days before his 4th birthday, had never had a dry nappy.. He was dry the first night which gave him a massive incentive then wet for the next 2 and then pretty much dry ever since... We work on the currency of earning smiley faces in our house which lead to a toy after about 30 and that seems to help him... If we had waited for a dry nappy then he would be about 12 before we tried it as he knew the nappy was there so would wee I to it when he woke up rather than get up....
  17. i had a scan at 35 weeks with both that said they were around 7lb at that time and they both came out at 40 weeks at 9 and a half pound so pretty spot on...
  18. We flew BA to the US in Feb so not sure if it is different for Europe but free allowance for the baby was a buggy and a car seat and on bag, we also had a travel cot and this classed as the one piece of luggage for the baby and the rest of her stuff was just in the other bags. The cot itself weighed 10 kg. They were a little vague on how much this could weigh. One thing to look out for is that they now have some odd policy in place that means that each individual bag cannot weigh more than 23 kg or something else they charge you ?40 a bag. The guy who checked us in had a 2 year old so was very forgiving when most of our bags weighed around 23-24 kg and gave us a chance to swap luggage around to avoid fess. I did phone them in the rum up to it several times about seating, meals, carrying expressed breast milk etc etc and found them to be really helpful...
  19. I have some green sprinkles left over from a dinosaur cake last month that you are welcome to, it took me ages to find them and I cannot remember where I got them from now but they were certainly elusive as most of what I could find was green sugar...
  20. Yes, that's just who I ment.. I'm impressed.. He must get loads of people of a certain age staring at him for the same reason...
  21. I swear Mr Baker from Grange Hill was in there doing his shopping yesterday . Does anyone know if he is a local?
  22. 6 weeks for both babies due to the noise factor- so noisy.. But the room was just behind ours and I still hear everything with number 2..
