  1. I've had 2 home deliveries from Chai's Garden, SE14 and both have been excellent. No internet ordering/not on hungry house etc - just phone! http://chaisgarden.co.uk/ - don't be put off by the pictures on their website!
  2. My house had something like 10 viewings in the first week and was under offer within 10 days, despite a BH w/e in the middle. I was very happy with the value they put on it, the price it was marketed at and the offer I accepted! It seems to me that they are pretty realistic in their recommendations, which they backup with a detailed analysis of the market. At the same time, they took my opinion into account and would have followed my instruction if I'd wanted it to go on at a higher price. Personally, I don't like the estate agents who indicate they will get you a higher price In order to get your business, but then can't sell it for that price.
  3. I've previously recommended No Flies estate agent - 4 months ago when I said how good they were in managing a complicated chain. That chain collapsed and I am now about to exchange (I hope)in another chain involving 5 properties. I still recommend them very highly and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I haven't been able to say that about any of the other estate agents I've used over the years! Both Brendan and Tony have continued to be easily accessible, excellent at communications, efficient, proactive and personable. In addition they have been very supportive in a sale that has, and continues to be, be very stressful.
  4. Hi, just wondering whether anyone responded to you or you found someone though another source? Thanks.
  5. Currently selling through No Flies and would recommend them highly. They have been efficient and helpful and are excellent at communication (something that is sadly lacking in many estate agents!). They found me a buyer very quickly and are managing a complicated chain (with a terrible estate agent at one end)very well.
  6. Pleased to add to Dave 's recommendations. He replaced my oven's circuit board, as the fan wasn't working. He came when he said he would and did a good, professional job. He was helpful and friendly and I would definitely use him again.
  7. Another recommendation for Micky Lawless. He has just completed similar job to OP. He did an excellent job and proved himself to be reliable, trustworthy and professional. He provided detailed costings in advance, which seemed reasonable. I was happy to have him in my home and to leave him there alone when necessary.

As you're on the same page as my recommendation, it seems likely that people would see both if they are checking Daniel out! I read your posting before calling him. This forum is great in terms of enabling people to read the experiences of others when they are trying to find someone local for work they need doing. The majority of companies/businesses/trades people will get some negative comments along the way. As I did, people will weigh these up with other positive comments. No one review is the most important. Caveat emptor and all that.
  9. Daniel responded very quickly to my phone call and came round within an hour. He fixed my leaking pipe under the sink quickly and efficiently. Nice guy, excellent customer service and very reasonable price. I highly recommend Daniel and next time I need a plumber, I shall use him again.
  10. Excellent service from Kevin. Picked up shears, secateurs, loppers, scissors, knives at 4 pm. Delivered them back in less than 24 hours all sharpened and shiny. Thankyou.
  11. Only there for a few weeks, but it's well worth a pop-in! I visited it this morning and there are some lovely pieces. It's also very easy atmosphere to browse around, with no feeling of pressure - always welcome in shops! Only problem, it's easy to miss, as it's a block down from the majority of shops. It's at Nunhead corner, 26 Nunhead Lane.
  12. thanks for that, but I need to find someone local.
  13. Can anyone recommend a radio repairer? the one in forest hill road has now gone. I drowned my dab bathroom radio in the bath!
  14. Another recommendation for Gary. He gave good, clear advice on the phone to help me work out if the problem was electrical or appliance related (it was an intermittent problem that meant it wasn't obvious). Turned out to be electrical (mice nibbling through very well hidden cable!) He sorted it out quickly and efficiently and made a couple of other things safe while he was there. So, reliable, good and reasonably priced - just what you want!
  15. I've used ADS a couple of times now for journeys to and from different airports. Both times they were totally reliable, very competatively priced and friendly. I use a wheelchair and they were really helpful and patient with both it and me! (unlike some cab firms). I can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks Tony and happy new year to you all.
  16. I just have to support all the good reviews of Norwood Rd vets. Both Ellie and Judy (part-time) were brilliant and caring in the last year of my cat's life. Judy came round in July, when he was 2 months short of his 18th birthday with the lovely nurse (sorry have forgotten your name if you're reading!) and couldn't have dealt with putting him down in a more caring and empathetic way - before, during and after. As they were leaving they even told me not to worry about phoning to pay until I was ready. About a week later I got a personalised card that was really nice and kind.
