  1. I?m sure it?s need posted on here before but just to add to the recommendations for Aston, he came to our house today for the second time. Aston did a great job, was on time and a pleasure to have around. He never fails to show me up for the incompetent DIYer that I am, much to my wifes amusement. His details are: 07490 947355

  3. I see this as the EDAG trying to do something positive and people now trying to tear it down. Maybe those being critical could explain what they plan to do for the benefit of the local community? It?s not the critic who counts etc etc

It would be good to hear about the projects all of the naysayers on this thread have lined up as alternatives to those currently being planned by this group.

  7. I know that this particular bike had a deep buried tracker fitted so it would have been pretty straight forward for the owner to talk the police onto its location after it was taken I?d have thought? The owner said that it?s covered by CCTV which the police are now in possession of, not sure it?ll help but worth a go.

I assume they?d have broken the steering lock and wheeled it away?
  9. Unfortunately not, they just chased them off. Apparently the police (unless specifically trained) are not allowed to chase people on mopeds/motorbikes regardless of whether they?re wearing a helmet or not. Unsurprising that this particular crime is so prevelant when there?s very little risk to the offender.
  10. Last night 3 x people on 2 x mopeds attempted to steel a motorbike on CPR (near junction with Silvester) using a battery powered grinder to cut through multiple locks. The police arrived just as the last of the locks were defeated so the bike was saved. Multiple locks and a quick police response is the only hope of saving your motorbike.
  11. My wife found an Aspinal iPhone case in the vicinity of Goose Green yesterday. If this is yours Please PM me to arrange it?s return.
  12. As ever, if you think it's too expensive, don't go. If everyone thinks the same, it'll fail. If they don't, it won't. Maybe give them a chance, at least they're trying to be productive / positive, unlike the usual moaners on this forum! So predictable
  13. Hi, Does anyone have a link to the planning application or know where I can find out some more info for this project on the junction of Crystal Palace and Silvester Roads? Just being nosey.. Thanks...

  15. As long as you're willing to return the flat to its original condition (in accordance with the inventory) I can't see any landlord having an issue with this?
  16. If it's a small project don't use an architect there's no need. - Get a structural engineer in, they will produce a drawing for any structural works required. - Plans requiring permission do not have to be produced by an architect as long as the planning department can understand them (they'll tell you if they can't). - If you have decent builders and are in a position to keep an eye on progress, just do exactly that. - if you absolutely must have professional drawings, employ a draftsman, they're much cheaper than an architect. We've completed this whole process a couple of times. We've never used an architect and everything worked out exactly as planned.
  17. We went to 325 Cafe on Sat too.... Good food (with real HP sauce!!) and very reasonable. Apparently, they don't generally open on a Sunday, however, we booked for 11 people in a couple of weeks time and they're opening up so I guess they will open up if it's worth their while...
  18. Our cleaner has space for another household on a Monday due to the previous employers going their seperate ways. We've employed her for over 2 years now. She works very hard and is extremely diligent. We've always been more than happy with her. If you're interested, please PM me and I'll pass on her details so you can deal with her direct. Thanks...
  19. Dun Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Has anyone tried the latest pop-up at Platform 1 > on Lordship Lane? Wanted to know if it was worth > trying. Thanks Yes tried it the other day, food was good as were the cocktails. Only problem was, it was very cold inside the restaurant. Admittedly it was a very cold evening however, I wouldn't expect to have to wear a coat while eating. Hopefully they'll address this before winter really sets in...
  20. Belgrade in Serbia, probably not a first choice for many but that's what makes it a great place to visit. It has a very chilled out cafe culture vibe.... I went with work and then took my wife who loved it...
  21. I had a minor operation earlier this week which was carried out at Kings College Hospital. The follow up was to have a dressing changed daily. I was offered an appointment for 25 Nov to change a dressing (yes a month later)! Now going to Peckham (Lister) to have this done. What's the point of having a medical centre with zero capacity? If the numbers stated earlier (60,000) are correct it's clear why this place is not fit for purpose...
  22. A Starbucks would be more use to me than a bank.... I like their coffee and their toasted cheese and ham sandwiches, lovely
  23. Try "Planters Club" on Zelinkagasse. It's away from all the usual tourist haunts and is a very cool bar with awesome cocktails...
