Booking holidays in term time OPINIONS - what do you do?

If a parent is lucky enough to secure a reception place for their child in a Southwark school that's great and they shouldn't flout the rules. -
All looks very chic but hope ED can cope with the additional car parking for the train station.

It does seem like you got your tuppence worth in though Rendel!

Charming Rendel, exclaiming that RPC is being tiresome and a bit confused about a word! Surely they are entitled to their opinion. Then again, you do love taking over a lot of threads with tiresome descriptive words etc. etc.

Don't think it's acceptable at all (booking holidays in term time) but that's just my opinion and it's great that Southwark are now cracking down on it. -
Do you want Controlled Parking YES or NO
hammerman replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
TE44 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > James, Can you tell me where workmen/woman would > park if you lived in a cpz in a non driving > household. Thank you. They could park for instance in the North Dulwich CPZ before 12 noon or after 2pm for free. Between any hours the CPZ is in effect then there are plenty of pay-points in the area. -
I seem to remember somebody posting a thread on here this afternoon about the haircut they had received from a well known hairdressers in ED. Quite a long post with somebody else commenting. It now seems to have disappeared? There's so many people posting multiple threads and titles in CAPITALS across the forum which according to the rules should be taken down so just wondering if anybody else saw this thread?

New security screens at self-checkout in Sainsbury's
hammerman replied to Robert Poste's Child's topic in The Lounge
Oh dear, will have to pop in soon to have a look. Didn't Sainsburys close down the normal check-outs for self check-outs a few years ago? -

Not every child played an instrument and she certainly had a lot of homework. -
A Levels - college or local school?

Not really. My bins are due to be collected tomorrow. If they're not, I would understand why.

East Dulwich station very slippery - take care!
hammerman replied to Diescu's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sorry you had a fall Diescu and hope you're ok. I would think that the train stations don't have enough staff to grit the stations and this is certainly the case all over Southwark at the moment. I remember the salt banks dotted around Southwark years ago but they seem to have disappeared. Hopefully it won't be too bad tomorrow! -

Sazzle30 - could you not contact your insurance provider for an answer to your question? Could you let us know what the answer is as you've raised a valid question. -

Mayor of London Consultation - cleaner air
hammerman replied to Butland's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Like Sue, I had some kind of questionnaire from the Mayor of London at least a month or so ago put through my letterbox about cleaner air but for one reason or the other I put it in my recycling bin! As usual, rendelharris seems to know better, but oh yes, he's a cyclist! -
Spoon feeding or baby led weaning????
hammerman replied to sam&pat's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I spoon fed my three but looking back there was probably some baby led weaning as well. Gave them lumps of cheese, cucumber, breadsticks, bananas to chomp on from 6 months but didn't chance things like lumps of apple, carrot, meat etc as was worried about the choking hazard. Also from a digestion point of view too for a baby/toddler it could cause problems at the other end!
