Sorry, I was assuming that existing stations would be used. I wasn't aware that there'd e options to build whole new stations. Would there?

How will it help people that live up by the plough? It's just as quick to jump on a number 12 to Peckham rye as it would to get to ED station

  6. I love Jurgen Klopp so much. BVB is very much my second team and I had the pleasure of going to a game last year in the Westfalion Stadion.

The game has changed (probably for the worse) since those days. I'm not sure 'losing the dressing room' was even a concept back then, as players were paid a fraction of what they are now and player power was a horrifying vision of the future.
  8. The Old Kent road proposal makes much more sense

I very regularly get the 12 from Peckham rye to oxford circus- door to door 45 mins. 25 mins from camberwell. Denmark hill overground is also very close. A little patience and effort go a long way.

Changed my tune on LVG? What did I say? My memory is terrible. If it was about him coming to spurs, I'd stand by it if Moyes was kept on. If United were managerless then it wouldn't be a tough choice between the two.
  12. Or Gary Neville
  13. Not a chance with Klopp. He's just turned down Barca, turned down a whole host if clubs last summer And just this week said he's still too much in love with BVB to go anywhere else. A few years down the line maybe, but not now. My money would be on Van Gaal or a gamble on Giggs. Outside chance of Simeone I suppose.
  14. Out of interest, why do City fans called United 'rags'?

Which was nothing like proven from that small collection. In fact there was only one in the twelve that was anywhere near approaching world class. However; after a quick review of youtube, I can see that I was wrong. My memory failed me, i didn't remember Ronaldo scoring the spectacular goals other than freekicks. The Ballon D'or is a little irrelevant in this case though as it's number of goals scored. I've never doubted that Ronaldo was better in terms of quantity. I still maintain that Bale, by 24 was better in terms of quality. And most of it, bar a few has been in the last season and a half. And, I'll reiterate that I don't think Bale is a better player than Ronaldo.

He doesn't score the unstoppable 30 yard screamers like Bale has done this season, and about 6 or 7 of them last season. He doesn't pick the ball up in his own half, tear past 4 or 5 players and score. Bale, by the age of 24 has a MUCH better selection of goals than Ronaldo had at that age. I'm not saying for one moment that Bale is better than Ronaldo right now; but he scores better goals. And if his career trajectory continues at the pace that it has in the last 3 seasons, he will go on to win world player of the year. He has more in his repertoire than Ronaldo had at that age. Alonso after last night, "it was amazing. I don?t think I?ve ever seen anything like it, It seemed like the ball had gone out and he was pushed, but he just ran off the field. Impressive." And he's played with and against Ronaldo for years. Check this video from last season. 31 goals I think, and only about 5 or 6 of them weren't brilliant in one way or another.
  19. he scores a lot more goals, but nothing like the variety that bale does
  20. He's come in for some criticism in his first season, despite leading la liga's assists table and scoring 20 goals in all comps (including half a dozen spectacular ones).I think the criticism has come because most of his goals have come in comfortable (3+ goals) victories, same with assists. Whereas Ronaldo, for example scored important winners. He put that to bed last night though. Bale's main strength for me is the variety of world class goals he scores. 30 yard screamers, sprints with ball from the half way line, beating 3 players in a tight space in the box, volleys, free kicks, headers, both feet, tap-ins. Not one-offs either. You look at his last 50 goals (this season and last) and it's pretty much extraordinary the range of different types of goals he's scored. I don't think there's another player in the world that has that variety to the same extent.
  21. Peckham is a damned sight more interesting and isn't full of buggies.
  22. You couldn't write it eh. In today's money ?600m on transfers and ?5.4m AVERAGE per man per year only buys one title. And now it seems they're about to finish third in a two horse race. The rest of world sport must be having a rare old chuckle. In other news; I bet Gareth Bale's delighted he made the move away from Spurs. Just scored a wonder goal winner in the Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona.

Considering that Liverpool have won ten PL games in a row and that Chelsea's away form is patchy- i think Liverpool are strong favourites for that game and for the League title now. Plus Chelsea have the small matter of a two legs of a CL semifinal either side of the game.

The game's changing Jah- 10 years ago it would have undoubtedly been the case- but I have a grudging respect for them now- the times of hating someone just because i'm 'supposed' to is behind me. The banter with gooners is still good for a laugh, but irrational hatred is a thing best left in the 20th century. I like good reasons for hating football teams now- city and chelsea have that in spades.
