Granted this is only a standard piece but there are direct quotes from management and there's no mention of an offer of the full LLW. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/ritzy-cinema-staff-vote-for-strike-over-london-living-wage-9232335.html

Did Picturehouse offer the LLW phased in over 18 months completely off their own backs or did it take disgruntled staff to moan about it? And why are the staff striking if it's been offered?

No, > thought not. > Yes, we have bought players-who hasn't ? Daily Mail facts? There are plenty of websites that are very easy to find that present full transfer histories. Everybody has bought players, but only one club spent anything approaching ?500,000,000 on players in 4 seasons. Yes I know exactly what you're doing with your academy and training facilities- once complete it will be the only complex in the world better than Tottenham's. ?500m in four seasons,a drop I the football ocean? Name one British club that's spent anything approaching that in the time frame. You bought one title and one cup (which in itself is a laughably bad return on that 'investment'). If the FFP rules had been brought in 7 or 8 years later you'd be nowhere near where you are now. Success was bought with no solid foundations- nothing built. At least United's success of the last quarter century was based on a successful youth system, initially. United under the Glazers is a very different thing to United pre- Glazers. Put the bitterness aside for one second and admit that you simply bought success In a similar to Chelsea but just I a slightly more vulgar way. The Sheik's net worth is precisely zero consequence to this argument. How much he's spent is.

Individual one-off player fees isn't the issue though is it? I've found that it's fairly typical of City fans to massage the facts to suit in recent years (I have a couple of close friends as city fans). The HALF A BILLION spent over four seasons 2008 - 2012 and the massive wages paid to a large number of players, is what irks. No club, not even Chelsea comes close to that.

This, exactly. I'm hoping success comes to a club in the Premier League, a little like what's going in with Atletico at the moment. In that respect, and as Spurs fan, i'd rather Arsenal won the league in front of Chelsea and City.

Striking is a staggering > overreaction in the circumstances. No, it absolutely isn't. Just because lot's of people aren't earning the LLW it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be. Hopefully this will encourage others to take notice. it's certainly got my attention and I didn't have a clue the number of businesses adopting the LLW was so low. It's recommended level for a reason and anyone earning below it, particularly at the behest of wealthy national or multi-nation companies is entitled to a say.

Liverpool for the title please. I despise Arsenal, Chelsea and City equally.

Interesting. Books and covers etc. -
Yep- let's talk about Atletico. In only one of the last six seasons have they made a net loss on players sales. They've turned a profit in each of the last three seasons with a net total profit (over those 3 seasons) of ?56m. If they draw anyone other than RM in the semis of the Champions League, they have the opportunity of beating their closest, much more illustrious and much bigger spending local rivals in the final and also have the opportunity of winning the La Liga title on the last day of the season against Barca in the Camp Nou. Not bad on a budget! Clubs will be knocking down the door and offering very great riches for Diego Simeone to manage them next season. How delicious would the irony be if he ended up managing Man Utd?

You're assuming I was being serious. RVP would never come to Tottenham because of his Arsenal affiliation.

It's good to know that despite the upheaval at Old Trafford and the abject failures on the pitch this season- the average Man Utd's fan midguided arrogance remains.

what's the most outrageous kid's name you've ever heard
titch juicy replied to Ladysaw's topic in The Lounge
My friend's Visiting mobile hairdresser was called Wonder. Another friend wants to call their soon to be born boy 'Wolf'. My friend's girlfriend won't let him. I think however that 'Guy' might be the very worst name I've ever heard. -
The title of this thread sounds like it should be the name of a specialist website.

If recent history is anything to go by it will hardly damage Barca. The vast majority of their goals, assist and success in recent seasons have come from home grown players. The bizarre thing, for me at least is the fact that this ban prevents them from selling players too- or put another way, prevents players from leaving and effectively prevents players from negotiating better contracts. In a way this might stengthen Barca.
