  2. ...and the roundhouse holds over 3000 (comparable to standing at brixton) but yeah, i see your point. The only time i can ever remember thinking the sound at brixton was awful, was for the beastie boys last year, and that was only the sound sourced from the dj's decks, the live instruments sounded good. A good measure for me was seeing arcade fire at brixton and the sound being excellent. But after seeing them at ally pally it was never much of a contest!
  3. i like the roundhouse, i wish i'd experienced it in it's original incarnation- but it's still a good venue. However, i'd place hard earned sterling on there being a crush on the exit stairs there, before any accidents at brixton academy.
  4. i dont understand
  5. the sound in there is great if you're stood in the right place, move 3 yards to the left and it's awful. I saw patti smith, sonic youth and willie colon there before i found my right spot- just in time for fleet foxes thank you giggirl :)-D
  6. celebrity culture sucks big hairy balls
  7. why do we (as a culture) feel the need to discuss to death (pun semi-intended) the demise of anyone famous, like we knew them at all? And the fake grief is nauseating. I don't see threads about any of the other (non-famous) people that died last week, offering feelings of sadness towards their family and friends.
  8. I think the sound is pretty much consistently good. Admittedly i only go to two or three gigs a month, but it fares better than any other venue of comparable size in london that i can think of.
  9. friday night was outstanding! i dunno about all these brixton academy gripes from people :-S it's still the best medium/large venue in london, the sound is excellent whereever you stand and there's a good view from whereever you stand. There are enough bars to cope, but the lager is muck- but then i'm not there for the quality of booze, i'm there for the music. anyway, a brilliant gig
