I would like to recommend Jasper Cardwell from Cardwell Electrical. He has completed several jobs at my home in the last 12 months, from installation of garden lighting to fixing bathroom mirrors, to replacing wiring/sockets on my ovens. He is reliable - he always turns up on time and as scheduled, super responsive on WhatsApp. He comes prepared, and is committed to solving the problems and getting it right,. He is clean & methodical in his work, and tidies up after himself. He is easy get along with & just gets on with his work. I would recommend him highly. 2. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this of late - my car was keyed on Sunday night - along the drivers side which was kerbside. It happened on Barry Road between Goodrich Road and Dulwich library, not far from the bus stop. There was nothing in the car to bring attention to it. It's such a mean act - and an expensive one. But it could happen again, any ideas on how to tackle it? Any insights or advice appreciated. AM
  3. I wanted to give a shout out to BeRDeC Decorators who are still working through the Covid-19 crisis. We've just had our front door and porch area made good and decorated - it was all crumbly and peeling and now it looks great. NO mess, no fuss, all done in a few days. We're always too busy to get to it and with our neighbour away it was an ideal time to get it done. Thank you Dave Franklin/BeRDeC, M: 07956 688622
  4. Another recommendation for Doug Hathaway/Hathaways Carpentry M: 07748 151 682 - he just removed our old dado rails and re-did our skirtings in our hallway, modernising them and giving them a much cleaner minimalist appearance (getting rid of odd shapes and cut-outs around cupboards etc) - super efficient, super neat and tidy. Thank you.
  5. Dear All I lost a gold bracelet on Monday morning, 22nd Jan somewhere between Barry Road and London Bridge on my morning commute, I wondered if anyone had seen it. I had it on my wrist at the 12 bus stop on Barry Road/Goodrich Road so I could have lost it on the 12 bus, the walk into Peckham Rye station, or the 08.54 train (which was delayed 8.59) from PR into LB. From London Bridge I took the jubilee line north with a change at Baker street for the Circle/Hammersmith & City line to Westbourne Park but cannot recall seeing it on my wrist. It?s a very distinctive design, very rare, in 18ct Gold, please can you PM me if you saw or know anything. Thanks in advance.
  6. I would also like to recommend Dave Reilly. I found his details on the forum and he came and had a look, and did some work for me this week. He tells it how it is, no guff - which is refreshing in itself, and he is very experienced and knowledgeable about all things relating to damp (also refreshing). I've had a few people reviewing/reporting on/guessing/quoting on our issue and he made the most sense and suggested the least disruptive way of resolving it. When we did the work, it revealed the problem, pretty much as he had diagnosed it would be. He works diligently and respects the space as a home (as opposed to a building site). Whoever you are talking to, get Dave in for a second/third/fourth opinion before you go off and do the wrong thing with the wrong team.
  7. Hi Lynnie I would recommend Doug Hathaway 07748 151 682. He has done alot of work for us and is a good all rounder. Call or text him and he will get back to you, He's busy but usually only a street away in ED. AM
  8. We've just had Doug Hathaway back (07748 151 682) to do some more work - more built in cupboards and to give a facelift to existing built ins in the bedroom that were looking a bit tired. They look like new, and are beautiful in gloss lacquer, I'm really pleased with the result. It was a clever way to update the room. I really like working with Doug, he's really reliable and very good at what he does - very happy to recommend him again.
  9. I'd like to share my experience of Berdec and Dave's team also. They were refreshingly different and did a superb job at our flat. I had the pleasure of Pat working on various bits and pieces of decorating for a week. He was neat, conscientious, communicative and very particular about the details, all of which I appreciate, and that is very different from the rubbish I've put up with from so called decorators in the past. I was impressed by all of the prep work that was undertaken pre painting as it showed that Pat himself derives a great deal of satisfaction from doing the job well. It wasn't the cheapest quote we had but it was a fair price for doing the job properly because they take time and work to a high standard. Dave is customer centric. While he is straight talking, he also listens and is responsive to your needs and eventhough he is not on site, he did check in during the week and came to review it at the end, to make sure we were happy with everything. I've already recommended Berdec and Pat to Friends and am very happy to recommend them to the forum at large, we'll certainly be working with them again.
  10. To anyone out there considering built in furniture: I'd like to recommend an excellent carpenter that we hired recently to do our built in furniture - a mix of wardrobes, shoe closets and shelving for our office. His name is Doug Hathaway and he was excellent, and we are very happy with his work (images attached). He is reliable, straightforward and very conscientious, taking great care of our property while undertaking the work and clearing up after himself. He's also very nice and easy to get along with. He works with you to ensure you get exactly what you want, offering a contemporary look, clever solutions for odd spaces and is fair on pricing. We agreed the design detail and fee in advance, and there were no hidden extras at the end, or excuses or delays. He's a quality craftsman and I would highly recommend him. His contact details are: E: [email protected] M. 07748 151 682
  11. Tired of my old routine and bored of the gym in general, I booked a few sessions with Giulio at Scala Training at the beginning of the year. It was the best New Years Resolution I made and I have to say, it has paid off. We did about 4 sessions and it set me up for a few months. I now do a refresher session every few months to reinvigorate my routine. I'd highly recommend Giulio as you'll really enjoy working out with him - he's smart, he listens and is totally focused on your session and what you want to achieve. Yes, he is tough, he works you hard and I admire his attention to posture and technique. He's very positive and upbeat, and doesn't take himself too seriously.
