  1. I just think it's unfair that residents have to pay for permits and those who do not live in or contribute anything to the area park for free. Plus the amount of these diesel coaches in this small area must be contributing vast amounts of pollution. They also get to drive through DV and Townley Road during the hours that no-one else can, not even the people that live there. I find it strange that a Labour council should allow this.
  2. Are the private school coaches charged anything by Southwark Council to park on Townley Road, Gallery Road and East Dulwich Grove all day?
  3. I didn't see them, but how weird. I wonder what it was? It appears very bright and doesn't look like a drone to me.
  4. There is a chap who rides a penny farthing in Dulwich Park, not seen him dressed as Santa though.
  5. @Earl Aelfheah "This is also nonsense. The road is where it’s always been, it’s just been narrowed to expand the pedestrian space. It is clearly marked and is dropped from the pavement. Suddenly however I think I may understand how you appear to be constantly experiencing ‘near misses’ / getting sworn at. Are you perhaps walking in the road?" Do you actually know this area at all? There is no longer a road, and there never was a pedestrian space to expand. I think you have been looking at artist's impressions and basing your opinions on that.
  6. The junction was completely dead today on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. Still, plenty of cyclists going through it and over it. Another section of the new paving has already been dug up by the burial ground, not sure for what utility though? This is the third area now in last 2 weeks.
  7. @march46 I mentioned it on 22nd November: "Happened to me today , but no-one injured, I was crossing from Dulwich Burial Ground over to Harold George side. A lady on a bike stopped at lights as it was green for pedestrians, and I started to cross, a motorbike/moped came along side her and went straight through red light. A man also crossing shouted at him but was ignored. This was at 12.30 p.m. today, happened so quick didn't get reg no."
  8. I just want bikes to stick to their bit of DV Junction and pedestrians to keep out of the cycle lane. Pity it wasn't defined better. Bikes are still riding through pedestrian crossing when green man is showing.
  9. You are determined to get this thread derailed aren't you. It's not all about YOU or cyclists, it's about DV Junction!
  10. What does any of this have to do with the newly landscaped Dulwich junction?
  11. Cyclists continually cycle across the pedestrian area of the junction. The reason for this is that the cycle hangers nearest the shops are outside Harold George and they can't be bothered to get off their bikes and walk.
  12. Southwark Council want all their streets to be CPZ's, it's all about the money.
  13. If you fancy testing this, go and stand in middle of DV Junction and I can guarantee it!
  14. How long before Starmer gives him the boot? Zero carbon no longer zero by 2030, it's now crept up to 5% and likely to creep further, the closer we get to the next General Election. I don't think Ed will like that!
  15. I thought this was a joke, take a look at Appendix A, why do we put up with this? What is the point in these so called consultations when Southwark Council just do what they want in any case? Dear Residents RE: CPZ Update - 23/AP/3458 – 152-154 East Dulwich Grove. In advance of the planning committee meeting on Monday 9th December - I wanted to inform you of a material planning update, which would help in reducing vehicular congestion around James Allens Girls School (JAGS) related to application ref: 23/AP/3458 – 152-154 East Dulwich Grove. The consultation on the revised Dulwich Village CPZ (which covers the roads immediately adjacent to JAGS) has been completed and the parking team have indicated that the CPZ will be implemented in the New Year. The hours of operation will be Monday – Friday 08:00-09:30 and 15:00-17:00. This is intended to discourage parent drop offs/pick ups and staff parking – reducing the stress of the road network in terms of traffic, congestion and illegal parking. Related details can be found on the following website: https://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=8052 This includes the Record of Decision and the related Report outlining details. Further details should be announced by the Parking Team through Council communication channels. Given the number of objections related to transport issues, I considered this would be a valuable update. 16. This is painful, don't take my word for it, go and take a look. It's dangerous, it's all one colour, a child would not know what is for pedestrians and what part is for cycles, it all merges into one. I only know because I live in the area and saw the plans, visitors don't have that luxury.
  17. The cycle track runs all through the junction, it does not have any kerb of any significance in most places.
  18. There is no clear definition of the areas for bikes and pedestrians. As a result some cyclists are cycling all over the pedestrian bits and pedestrians keep wandering into the cyclist bits. It's all the same bland colour. Motorcycles/mopeds etc still keep riding through as well!
  19. I had a look today as I was walking that way. You can hardly see them as double yellows they are so black and faded I don't think you would see them if you were in a vehicle. and there were cars parked all along that stretch, none had tickets. I would take some photos and dispute the ticket.
  20. Thank you, but they are the ones he doesn't respond to.
  21. Have you got a number or e-mail for him? He was always so reliable, but now does not answer the phone or e-mails?
  22. The new pavement in Calton Avenue is slippery in the rain, I found that out today.
  23. I thought Russell was great too, but haven't been able to get hold of him for well over a year. I accepted his quote for a whole new roof and never heard anymore? Strange.
