  1. Hi We are relocating to Kent (although the Flavour Kitchen will of course still remain a South-East London based business) and I have a small mountain of St Anthony's Primary school jumpers, ties etc (ages 4/5 to 8 years). Boys being boys they do have some wear and tear but they are going free if anyone is interested. We are actually moving tomorrow - so ideally a collection at some point tomorrow up to midday would be great. If not, I could arrange a drop-off of items in mid August when I am back at work. Please PM me if interested. Sinead
  2. My husband is on blood thinners for life - he used to be on warfarin and did all his regular testing at the haematology walk-in clinic in Kings. He used to get down there early (8.00am ish) to avoid queues. I would contact the reception there for info.
  3. I have 3 young boys - all mad about football and we have tried a few football clubs in the Dulwich area. All of them are great - but I really, really recommend APD run by James Mullane and his fantastic team of incredibly enthusiastic coaches at Dulwich College sports club every Friday from 6.30 to 8.00pm. James is incredibly passionate about football and is a complete natural with coaching children. He also coaches some of the youth teams at Millwall (as well as running after-school football clubs). The astro turf and facilities at Dulwich College are first class and match the coaching provided by APD. It works on a drop-in pay-as-you basis or you can also pay by term - so super flexible. If you have football keen boys or girls, you should really try it out. http://www.advanceplayerdevelopment.com/apd-centres.html
  4. Hi Morasmum I would try aupair world website as we found our absolutely fabulous au pair through it. Depending on how old your children are, I would definitely specify an older aupair and also do interviews through Skype. I believe aupair rates start around ?100.00 pw for 20 hours but we pay a lot more than that as ours works full-time and is basically a live-in nanny given the amount of responsibility she has. Best wishes
  5. Thank you Nylonmeals It was an absolute pleasure to cater for your party! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have to add that the croquembouche from Boulangerie Jade looked and and tasted amazing! What a great idea! Very best wishes Sinead
  6. I really would go to A and E for a scan. My husband was misdiagnosed with his first DVT and in all three of them he didn't have any swelling. They should see you quickly.
  7. I really recommend you get it checked out at Kings AE ASAP (no need to go via GP). My husband has had 3 DVTs (the first one turned into a Pulmonary Embolism and was the result of a short flight from Ireland) and for each one the symptoms were just a dull pain in various parts of his leg (including the upper thigh), although I think he was limping with one of them too. Kings scan you very quickly and if a clot is found will start you on a course of heparin immediately to break the clot down before it can travel further in your body. It was all very straightforward treatment but it is important you get a diagnosis and treatment as quickly as possible if there is a clot.
  8. Hi I am looking for small business accountant recommendations. I like to use local based businesses where possible and as such is anyone able to point me in the right direction of someone in SE22 area who they really rate and who can help provide advice on VAT registration and how to manage my accounts much more efficiently. They need to be quite patient as due to my busy workload, there is a lot of organising to be done :) Many thanks - Sinead
  9. Hi all Just a reminder about our inaugural supper club in a couple of weeks time. Tickets already selling so please do visit grub club if you would like to come along. Really lovely food, beautifully presented and in a gorgeous and very unusual setting. 10. Hi all I am very pleased and excited :) to announce that two local catering companies - Salon and The Flavour Kitchen are joining forces to host a new fine dining supperclub in the gorgeous surroundings of Kingswood House in Gypsy Hill. For those of you not aware of this beautiful building - it is a late Victorian gem, once owned by the Bovril entrepreneur, John Lawson Johnston. Our supper club will be held in one the House's fabulous wood panelled rooms complete with grand stone fireplaces and colourful Victorian tapestries. We have designed our fine dining supper club menus to compliment the grand and stately surroundings in which it will be served, but of course with a few little twists....not to mention some brilliant light entertainment. The opening night is on the 3rd July and has a special launch price of ?38.50 for welcome cocktail, canap?s and four courses including amuse bouche. We hope to have a temporary license for the evening to sell wine. See more at: http://grubclub.com/kingswood-house-supper-club-kingswood-house-supper-club/1372 or PM me for more information. Best wishes, Sinead
  11. Oops - this was meant to be sent as a private message:). Apologies for cluttering up the forum! Hi I have a few knives which are in desperate need of sharpening and one of them has a knick so will also need shaving and sharpening. Are you able to do today? If so - what is your cost? Many thanks Sinead
  12. Hi Jelliebeanz I am a locally based caterer covering private and corporate events across London, including weddings and would be more than happy to meet with you to discuss your requirements and provide a quote. I can also arrange a tasting session (which is included in my wedding package if you choose to book with me). All my menus are done bespoke for clients, but you can view some sample menus and photos of my food on my website www.theflavourkitchen.co.uk. Best wishes, Sinead
  13. Huggers and her friend very kindly took some off me so my little bread mountain has shrunk a bit. Alas I have no freezer space at the moment and no time to make bread and butter pudding either - but thank you for the suggestions!
  14. Sadly the foodbank doesnt take bread. I will try the refuge place. Unfortunately, I am also really busy today with jobs so sadly cant make lots of small bread roll deliveries. Ideally looking for a good home for all or most of them!
  15. Just thought some more about this - does anyone know if there is a foodbank in ED which would be interested in them?
