  1. Yuck! As if the general slimeyness wasn't bad enough, I've seen slugs eating fox poo in the garden. They're one of the few creatures I don't mind killing (usually in a bucket of boiling water).
  2. Slugs, especially stepping on them, especially in the dark, especially in bare feet.

Its a right pain though (the > fasting not the blood test!) I did a blood test a few months back which included cholesterol and I was told no need to fast for that, but perhaps not all cholesterol tests are equal.
  4. Results are back with your GP usually in under a week.
  5. 'LOL' makes me want to hit someone.
  6. Try Tescomobile. I used to be with Orange/EE and since I switched in April last year everything has been much better, including the signal strength and customer service.
  7. Foxtons has a long history of less than ethical behaviour so I can't imagine even a post on a local forum would bother them much.
  8. Sans irk here too. No major issues, been for a swim and now about to flop with whodunnit and herbal tea. May have a temporary irk tomorrow though as going to bed with wet hair and will wake up with mad curls. Such fun for the postman.
  9. Or perhaps they're taking advantage of other installations to fill in gaps in the area and put themselves in a position to market more heavily to potential customers. They may not be standing on the doorstep trying to charge you for work they've done but it would still be a scam in my view. I get marketing through the door from Virgin Media about once a week these days.
  10. Jeremy Kyle (guilty pleasures).
  11. Can I borrow it if you're not using it?
  12. Glad to hear it was a straightforward mistake. After the police booklet I'm seeing danger on every corner!
  13. Would it be worth a call to the Safer Neighbourhoods team? It could be a genuine mistake by a contractor but, having flicked through the Little Book of Scams that James Barber kindly posted a link to, it seems that a lot of scammers do target older people.
  14. No one you'd remember - a long time ago and didn't last long. Have almost forgotten myself.
  15. Maybe it's me... I don't mean to criticise anyone who has changed their identity as I'm sure there are many, me included, who lapsed for whatever reason and then rejoined later.
  16. Are you married to Madmum?
  17. Thanks for correcting. I read it on the BBC website, strangely. Confusing.
  18. Sorry, I didn't just mean you personally; more the 'inner core' of long-term Lounge-users who have had more than one persona. When people refer to a previous incarnation in a way that seems to have a bearing on the current discussion it gets confusing. Maybe there should be a character list somewhere to help other people catch up, including their best bits, like on the Archers website.
  19. I wish someone would do an org chart showing all your aliases.
  20. Apparently the judge has now found him not guilty of culpable homicide either. Doesn't seem right to me.
  21. El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think that's just their name for manslaughter > isn't it? Manslaughter appears to be option 3 - yes you killed her but it wasn't your fault.
  22. He's been cleared of premeditated murder but could still be found guilty of culpable homicide or manslaughter. My guess would be the former, given the judge's comments so far.
  23. Crikey. So one of those events designed to brainwash susceptible types and manipulate them into handing over money?
  24. The amount of advertising in the Lounge is really off-putting. Can't even see any local relevance for this one.
