  1. Craic (is that allowed?)
  2. I live in Dulwich and I waited about 45 minutes last night and nearly 30 tonight, so unfortunately it's not as straightforward as that. For anyone else who didn't know either, apparently the live departures board on the Network Rail website seems to be more up to date than the displays - and staff - at LB.
  3. Would it be possible to give him a profile on here so he can share some of his stories? I'm sure people would love to hear them.
  4. In my tiny garden there were three robins. Two were doing a little dance and the third looked like it felt left out.
  5. Thanks, I'll go along and unburden myself.
  6. Or share, maybe? We have one big bin between several households in my road. People generally aren't gardening at the same time so if ours is full there's another nearby with room. We also share one blue bin between two. Seems to work out OK.
  7. Do you know when that is, by any chance? Occasionally I do ask to speak to a manager - next day, obviously, as they don't admit to any being around at the time - but nothing ever seems to change.
  8. Nacre (honest)
  9. People who have key tones activated on their phone. Why does everyone have to know every single time you press a key?
  10. Waiting at London Bridge for 45 minutes so far. One train cancelled, next one - 10 mins after scheduled departure time - has no driver. Very little information as usual. Train this morning also delayed with no explanation. Still no day without delays since at least November (which wasn't when they did run on time, just when I started noticing).

Imagine breakfast conversation in that house. Unbearable.
  12. Especially when combined with the attention-seeking upward inflection. It's, like, really annoying? Urgh, had a slight lurch to the stomach contents just typing that.
  13. To be fair to Tesco, as a woman of a certain age pretty much anything will set me off some days.
  14. I get that the legal system needs to be consistent, so perhaps focusing on individual stories is too emotive, but I'd tend to agree that whenever this subject is discussed, some people on the pro-driver side of the debate do seem to distance from the fundamental moral responsibility of killing someone. The law as it stands, along with some of the messages from the authorities and media, may be absolving them of that sense of responsibility. On the other hand, when yet another driver overtakes me with a total disregard for the fact I'm turning right, I'll take responsibility for getting myself out of the way. Sometimes it's a choice between being right and getting home um one piece.
  15. Chocolate is sex but cake is love. There's no place for marshmallows in either; they're definitely not food.
