  1. I'm not sure it's fair to assume that if a cyclist is in a lorry or car's blind spot it's their own fault anyway. I cycle around here most days and it frequently happens that someone overtakes you then immediately starts to pull in and hems you in.
  2. The cheap glasses I stupidly bought from Tesco's optician. Bits keep falling off.
  3. More of a drug. Maybe that's just me though.
  4. Anything that involves going to the Post Office.
  5. Benugo. We have a captive one at work and they put huge amounts of salt and/or cream in almost everything. They actually add salt to their ham sandwiches as 'it's part of the recipe' - there's already salt in the bread, the ham, the mustard and the mayonnaise, and then they add a big pinch on top.
  6. The library has copies of the local magazine if it's not posted through your door.
  7. Digressing from the topic slightly, the local shop I use the most is the newsagents Red Apple opposite the library. Feels like a proper local shop where they remember you and they usually know what's going on around here.
  8. In principle it sounds a reasonable safety net if it's only used in very extreme circumstances and Thames Water don't use it to drain off those endless leaks around Woodwarde Road, for example. Some of those poor people on Half Moon Lane have only just reopened. And that fine brown stuff that lined the street to thigh height and gradually turned into dust that passers-by inhaled wasn't actually silt. Though it does contain three of the same letters.
  9. I really don't think it's right to publish the name of the road you think a celebrity lives in. Hope you or the administrator will see fit to edit that post.
  10. I also like the one that does all the household stuff, just down from the police station. Recently someone posted on here desperately asking if anyone had any John Lewis baby muslins in blue (v EDF) as their child was obviously very attached to them and there were some in this shop all the time. It must have a name but can't remember seeing it.
