Oh I do get it. As a parent you have rights and responsibilities, and if there ere no underlying medical reasonns your kinds should be vaccinated, not just for their own sake but for the sake of those feebler in society who cannot adequately protect themselves from certain diseases and their best chances not to have to face a disease is herd immunity, that is when sufficient numbers of the population are vaccinated making it harder for the unprotected individual to meet the disease. So yes, I stand by my statement, if you are selfish enough not to vaccinate your kids, then it would be better for the rest of us if you sinply don't have any. Not even going to bother bringing up the daily mail comment.

Or better still, if you don't want to vaccinate your children then do not have children in the first place as it is the lives of others and society at large you are putting at risk when you don't.
  3. Just an enquiry, Are there any small workshops in the area that have injection molding capabilities and/or high precision laser cutting (acrylics, steel, aluminium)? Thanks

The session was completely So you're saying that there wasn't anything really wrong with you and a bit of pampering turned you into a believer of alternative medicine despite the scientific body of evidence that classifies the likes of reiki, homeopathy, colloidal silver and crystal therapy as complete and utter rubbish. > calming and peaceful, and made me feel beautifully > unwound and "back on track". So, you could have gone to a spa instead? This so reminds me of the Tim Minchin classic, Storm:
  5. Thanks Anja, I am sure you can sing beautifully but can you produce any evidence of efficacy? In your first post you say: As well as fixing aches and pains, Reiki can help us to stay on the path to achieving our goals. Yes, we might have a day where we fall back into negative patterns, but with a bit of support and self awareness, we can forgive ourselves and pick up the good habits once again. And you also infer that you charge money for those services for which you make those claims. So, it is only a legitimate question to ask: "Is the product you are selling, Reiki, effective, or is it just hocus pocus?" It is no matter of whether people are medically inclined or more interested in complementary medicine? What does even that mean? I am simply asking: Does Reiki work? If it does, please provide links to trials that have been peer reviewed and accepted by the scientific community. Warm regards
  6. I cannot comment on personal trainers but you may also consider weighing the benefits of a personal trainer versus a class, which can be quite fun and has a good social aspect to it too. I have noticed at some gyms small classes for 3-5 individuals which are probably cheaper than a one on one personal trainer and probably just as good.
  7. I would be very interested to learn more, so please explain how reiki can fix aches and pains? I would also appreciate seeing some evidence to back those claims including references to peer reviewed article published in a reputable scientific journal.

Thanks for sharing that article. You may enjoy listening to Michael Specter's talk "The dangers of science denial":

The Romanians are our misfortune. We need to start rounding them up and make them wear a Blue/Yellow/Red badge that reads Roma so we can tell them apart from a mile away. [ yes, it's a sarcastic drawing of parallels in the Light of growing xenophobia ]

It is not a matter of opinion but one of fact. Any link between MMR vaccine and autism has been discredited. The wikipedia article provides a good summary and links to the relevant sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMR_vaccine_controversy
