  1. Abellio are the worst. Throws people off all the time unexpectedly after revising the destination, and more than once, refused to give onward tickets - meaning we had to pay twice to get to our destination.
  2. It is only undergoing engineering work so as to introduce capacity. It isn't like it is going to be permanent. I like the Overground as it takes me exactly where I want to go, or change. Problem is Canada Water interchange wasn't build for this level of demand. A new interchange at New Cross Gate for Bakerloo Line will help. Sadly we will all be dead by the time they decide on any Bakerloo Line extension. Hopefully my great grandchildren's children might be able to see it build one day.
  3. I am no fan of EAs, but we bought our house via KFH. That particular agent was friendly and helpful throughout the process, and did not once try to get us to offer more than we could afford even though there were other buyers baying in the background. Now, I am aware that not every EAs are the same, and there has been agents we've met at other KFH offices and EA brands (Foxtons, anyone?) who we weren't too pleased with.
  4. Don't mind the no cash thing. But there should be more Oyster top up kiosks, and definitely one close by each and every bus stop. Sadly Tfl are run by a bunch of muppets, so this won't happen
  5. As a plane watcher it excites me each time a plane descends over ED. Wave next time you are in one of those planes, fazer71!
  6. Like most free (and many paid) magazines, it is rubbish. But offensive? No.

No more or less spiteful than people passing judgement on others based on how nice their front lawn is.
  8. A leaflet from a greasy chicken shop is far more useful than a political leaflet dropped by a person who obviously spends far too much time trying to sound clever, with a help of a thesaurus.
  9. Oh so sorry, please excuse my grim looking house if it offends you. Was meaning to put on a new lick of paint on the front wall, but you know, wet winter and all. Maybe during summer? But apart from a couple of unwanted offline spams lying inside of my front door, the inside is pretty fabulous.
  10. I like to take the buses, but wish there was a tube line to SE London. The traffic on Old Kent Road and Walworth Road are often unbearable, even more so during roadworks. No one is asking that every district in London should have a tube station, but not having a single underground station south of Bermondsey in SE London is a scandal. I've lived in areas of North and West London (normally with 2-3 stations within walking distance). These areas are hardly transient at all.
  11. Chiswick and the original Brixton shop are ace. Not sure about the one at Westfield. Sodo in HOP/Brockley is good too.

Because I also have a car? > > > FFS with neighbours with logic like that we're all > fvucked.... Yes, very serious. You fly 12 times a year thus contributing to the increased demand. Of course you are part of the problem. Let me ask you a question, during your 12+ flights a year, have you ever flew out in the morning, or at night, or arrived in another airport in the morning, or at night? A close friend of mine works night shifts (like many others working in various industries in London) and have to sleep during the day time. He doesn't whinge about day time flights - which appears to be a-okay with you.
  13. Then you are part of the problem. I have not flew in eight years, and have no issues with aircraft noise. You on the other hand fly 12 times a year!
  14. Not only Boris, but previous governments and TfL as a whole dislikes South East London. Check the London Railway connection map and you will see one massive empty patch between E&C, Old Kent Road, South Bermondsey and Walworth that has no railway stations. It isn't surprising the traffic on Old Kent Road and Walworth Road is unbearable. Lewisham is the only inner London council that does not have a tube station in it! Bakerloo line is the only tube line with spare capacity and extending it makes more sense than Crossrail 2. Part of the Hayes line could be re purposed, taking it via New Cross and New Kent Road and terminating in Hayes. The success of the Overground has proven that you can easily upgrade existing lines for budget to create a new successful franchise. Still, I expect the TfL and Mayor of London office has zero appetite for servicing South East London, so I have given up hope of ever seeing a new tube station being built here.
  15. Cycling to work today, another cyclist almost crashed into me by ignoring a red light. Would be hospitalised if I did not stop in time. Obviously *some* cyclists think that they are above the law. He got lucky today. It could be a bus he will be cycling into tomorrow.
  16. Fabfor, the thread title does not specifically state that this thread is only for complainers. If you decide to live in a large international city, then airplane noise is to be expected. I used to live in West London under the flight path, in a house with single glazed windows, and the noise never affected me. In fact, I find the drone calming. So no, I won't be signing this petition. If aircraft noise is an issue, nobody is stopping you from moving away or getting some ear plugs.

LadyDeliah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Post 3, too many arrogant, badly behaved cyclists > around these days. > > Negative general cyclist comment based on nothing > but this poster's prejudice. And negative general (anyone but cyclists) comments aren't prejudiced?
  18. I don't see generalisation against cyclists in this thread. Only holiar than thou attitude by militant cyclists who somehow takes criticism of *some* cyclists as a general attack. I am a cyclist myself and I feel offended by the way militant cyclists on EDF like to deflect every single blame to other road users.
  19. Cyclists don't kill? Tell that to the family of Rhiannon Bennett. For what it's worth, I am also a cyclist. Never own a car, not even a drivers license.
  20. I will tell my dear old aunt, who just had a hip operation four months ago, that she shouldn't be driving in this horrid weather, as that would mean she is a kitten killing, warmongering anti social.
