Give it up mate. Your desire to 'get one' over me is a bit pathetic, and you're embarrassing yourself now.
  4. you're right - nothing happening in the EU has any bearing on what happens here in the UK does it? because that hasn't been the entire discussion for the past 4 years has it? you do make me laugh, i'll give you that.

Totally agree. to clarify....Comment is more noting the lack of any comment from any remainer commentators criticising the deperation of the dutch making this move. And what it might suggest about the relative attractiveness of the UK post brexit.

Just flagging that I don't see a host of remainers coming out to label the dutch as desperate, and discussing the implications of such a move...whereas I believe they would be joyous slating the UK govt if it was the other way around.... But thanks (once again) for your lack of any original ideas or comments.

The point here from the article is that a number of businesses are seeing some attraction in being based in post-brexit Britain. So perhaps the country won't be the basket case that some have been worried about. Of course, as the article alludes to, final negotiations with EU will govern the end result. As an aside, imagine the remainer outrage and derision if Boris implemented a punitive tax policy to stop companies leaving the UK?....it would be painted as desperate and pathetic attempt to stop the tidal wave of companies wanting to leave brexit Britain.....
  8. It's not just these migrants taking a view on UK versus EU nations....apparently the heads of some mult-national business's too.... https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/mainland-europe-is-finally-coming-to-terms-with-brexit I expect it probably becuase they're all just ill-informed though....

  19. I've spent two days trying to come up with a boring one liner for Ghostbusters....and assuming I'm being fair to the storyline of the film, and not just copping out by saying something like '3 scientists buy an old firestation'...it sounds awesome no matter how I cut it.....

  23. Not sure if anyone else has noticed a few local establishments really bumping prices in very recent times? I know there was a thread on this at the start of lockdown with regards to grocery stores taking advantage of shortages - and that seemed like a clear situation of price gouging. But, more recently. I'm referring to local, non-essential shops ramping prices. For example...without naming any business names.... A chippy charging ?5.50 for a portion of takeaway chips - I reluctantly paid, expecting it to be a massive portion for the whole family (it wasn't) A wine/beer merchant charging ?5 for un-chilled, 330ml cans of mid-strength, pale ale. Note: This is just from a shop, not for service and consumption on licensed premises. OR for a treat, if you want their staff to choose you a random selection (sorry - 'carefully hand picked') of 6 pale ales, They'll do you a 6-pack (again, 330ml cans, not pints) for a bargain price of 32 quid!!! Obviously part of me finds these prices obscene. Then another part of me says that these non-essential shops are likely to be struggling given everything going on, and perhaps I should just support local businesses by paying a bit extra in the near term. What are the rest of Edf's thoughts? And are their other examples you've seen?
