  1. "You can't have your cake and eat it" Well...what's the sodding point of having a cake if it's not for eating?!!!!
  2. Shame. Now i have no problem paying up for good stuff, even dont mind paying overs if i really like it, but we bought pasta from there on 2 occasions...it was 'okay'....yes it was good quality....but when paying north of 25 quid for pasta for 2 (that you still need to cook yourself), just being'okay' wasn't really enough unfort. Also tried their offering on deliveroo a couple of times. Overbaked lasagne didn't really have us hurrying back....

  8. I think that 95% (official figures:))) has moved on and couldn't care less if a woman is breastfeeding in public. But it gains attention through a combination of vocal members of the 5% of people who are 'offended' by public breastfeeding, combined with the vocal breastfeeding advocates who want to claim victimhood, as if that 5% represents the majority view....

If one assumes this is calculated the same way as the 'gender pay gap' is calculated. Then this is just an average of the pay of all women versus the pay of all men, irrespective of seniority. So, again, if it is calculated in the same way as the much trumpeted 'pay gap'...then it suggests that both women and men are well represented across all pay brackets...with women actually slightly better represented at higher pay grades....

Rendel, I don't think most sensible people would deny that women are disadvantaged in many areas of society...and trumpeting this loudly when it's seen is a surefire way for the media to get attention. But the lack of media coverage of some of the specific areas in which males are disadvantaged is probably the sore point here....
  11. This is the headline "Woman in key No 10 role paid ?15,000 less than men for same job" Versus this fact at the bottom of the article..."Across all current political appointees, women were paid on average 1.6% more than men overall" I guess at Guardian Towers it's not cool to say that women might be doing well in some areas.... https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/dec/14/katie-perrior-downing-street-communications-director-gender-pay-gap

  15. I might start touting out the front of the Cherry Tree, telling the backpackers that for a tenner I can get them free entry into the EDT and a half-pint of cider....they wont find a better deal than that on East Dulwich Island...

  19. No comment on the carbon footprint of a dog..but the faeces footprint all over our streets is clear to see. Also....yesterday got home and front gate and bottom of path were drenched in a yellow, deep puddle of dog piss. Now I know know that you can't pick up dog piss, but letting him do it in the middle of someone's front path?
  20. Bob Buzzard wins....how did this thread get to 27 posts?
  21. While I appreciate that it is a massive inconvenience for those residents on the lower part of Calton Ave....I do think they should suspend parking on the part of Calton Ave below Woodwarde while they have Court Lane closed. Given teh volume of traffic that is likely to be coming along Woodwarde and Calton....if you can only fit one car at a time through we're going to have some serious problems. Juts look at when the tempoeray lights were back up on Calton a few weeks ago....as soon as you got a bus queuing to go from Alleyns through the village junction, the whole thing ground to a halt....

Yep....he will get rag-dolled by launchberry, Lawes, Itoje and co.....he offers a decent 3rd jumping option in the linepout, and tries very hard....thats all i can say good about him. Couple that with sean mcmahon at number 8...who has all the heart in teh workld, but is 6 inches too short and 30lbs too light to be a world class 8....and our backrow is looking very under powered...

As a London based Aussie, I am gutted I wont be a Twickenham tomorrow....I have previoulsy been to this fixture every year i've lived in this sunny country (11 years)..... In anycase...I predict the wallabies will get demolished at the breakdown, and pinned in their half by farrel's boot..England by 12... I hope I'm wrong. But the backrow that Cheicka has picked is all wrong....you guys havent seen Cheika's new number 6, Ned Hannigan over here....lets hope after tomorrow you never have to see him again...my old nanna had more imposing physical presence than this chap...
  24. Is this a legit thing to be concerned about? or just envy that other people have more money? go....
