  2. let's go for clockwise then and let's keep the thread alive and see if we can get 4/6 of us to kick off with a gamee or two, can't do this week, but early w/c 16th Feb would do me...:) I'm bound to get thrashed but... hey ho, would be fun anyway:) that's two sets (thanks Simon) my board's smallish but still nice to play with
  3. s'pose it's what you get used to... ...teach an old dog and all that hope you find a good board cc
  4. this is the way I play it... I would be black (or brown in this case) and play clockwise could you be Persuaded(?) http://www.truemoneybackgammon.com/board3.JPG Mikecg Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Oh! No, anti is the only way to play.
  5. got a cute roll up leather and suede one that's great for traveling the world with bought it years ago from this shop... great range, shop's bit geeky and old fashioned but in a cool way http://www.bcmchess.co.uk/shop.html ps remind me what 'Foxtrot Victor Tango' means Mikecg
  6. oh dear, will have to retrain my brain not a very experienced player but sometimes play on holiday and love it thought it might be nice (ekk, memories of the 'Miles' debate about the word 'nice') to get a few interested players to meet up to play in ED
  7. was thinking more of 'with a drink in the Magnolia' sort of thing, but online might be a poss only thing is, I find that some play clockwise and some play anti clockwise I'm a clockwise girl and get all discombobulated (lovely word that) when I meet the anti clockwise layout!
  8. PeckhamRose Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But for now, just get the jewellery and > have a laugh then move on. jewellery, jewellery... now what's all this I hear about jewellery, PeckhamRose... have I been going wrong somewhere??? mind you have always been attracted to the art type and artist/garratt/jewellery, hhhmmm... not sure really they go together maybe I need to think again about what 'my type' is(?) but Tory... that's a step too far for me(!)
  9. Backgammon 17th Feb the magnolia!!!! meet at 8.30 will put details on the What's On section and PM all who have shown interst... but until then...put it in your diaries!:)) Bring boards/sets if you have one.... http://www.truemoneybackgammon.com/board3.JPG

  11. Moos Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think I'm me and wouldn't say anything on the > Forum that I wouldn't also say face to face. well that's cool Moos, cos your posts are often funny and clever, a great combo:)

  14. seriously arrogant to the point of being deeply pathetic a clear sign the he has his out of control ego pampered day in day out what a horrid little man, imagine having to work with him!!!!!!!!!!!! ps in case there is any confusion I am referring to Christain Bales and not one of the lovely forumites posted above
  15. oh yes... fantastic news... TLS and RosieH might be beating the recession, they do say that in economic down turn that creatives and entrepreneurs do well and are the people that kick start things back into life... fingers crossed for you 'cos, boy do we need you... x cc
  16. they say opposites attract but I somehow feel a cross-party mix does not seem the best starting point. I suppose it depends what you're looking for, if you want something that will 'last and 'last' then I suspect having similar values and general approach to life (and your political bent could be a pretty good way of assessing that) are important, even if you are very different in otherways (extrovert/introvert, rocket scientist/graffiti artist, boy/girl, nightowl/early morning bird, practical/dippy, etc etc). it's so personal RosieH guess only you can answer that question(!)but could you really love this(?) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/00667/boris-johnson-yawn_667484n.jpg good luck, bring on lurv
  17. just went as on at the Peckham Multiplex and only ?5.99, had not seen the trailers but sometimes good to see a reeeeaaaly bad film to remind you how good it is when it's good.... Slum Dog, I love you http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fPiYV98KdAI/SJXBt-80P7I/AAAAAAAABR8/xTvHPkwp7xQ/S220/radha_krishna_govardhan_rad.jpeg
  18. emergency posting... do not go and see benjamin button!!! unless you like extreeeeemly sentimental american schmaltz that goes on for hours and hours with dreadful wooden acting and dire make up... no no no!!! fine to go but don't say I didn't warn you:( http://www.trailersundone.com/video/BenjaminButton-poster.jpg
  19. got it... thanks you learn something new every day!:)
  20. how on earth can you remember that!!! amazing memories you all have::o (or is there a way to see the things you have posted?? and just have not found it)
  21. oh the risotto with scallops sounds love love lovely!!!!
  22. Strawbs Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am definitely me.. cant stand it when peeps take > on a more brave or aggressive persona just because > they are behind a screen.. Hope I did not give the wrong impression(!) even though I said I was a 4. I do naturally have a bit of a minx-ish streak, was always getting into trouble at school for making people laugh in class and I guess that trait has never really gone away, so probably just me online and in person 4. is 3. as (in me) they are one!
  23. got a friend coming over for supper before we see the Benjamin Button film so... it's home made soup made with onion, spring onions, garlic, tomatoes, parsnip, red lentils, veg stock cube, cumin, ginger and corriander, cook 30mins or so then whizz (ie. basically all the stuff I had in fridge/cupboard) "DONE" as Gordon would say then some cheese and crusty bread with red onion chutney finish off with grapes lots of red wine
  24. I am off to see an advance screening of Bolt with my best friend Fred, he's five (and so am I at times) It's directed by the same guy that did toy story and is getting race reviews only ?5.50 at Peckham Multiplex could be another chance to bring out the kid in us forumites... see you there xCharliecharlie http://www.smartcine.com/images/bolt_still_1.jpg
