  1. Hi, I'm the original poster but luckily I can remember most of the replies which were really helpful.
  2. Beckenham is Zone 4 and a 15 minute drive from East Dulwich, I have a Friend who lives there and they're happy. Anyway, sorry gone off topic.
  3. edcam Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- But then you'd have to live in Penge or Beckenham. What's wrong with Beckenham?

Hi James, Was anything discussed around actually increasing the number of appointments available each day? People can scramble around and put in more admin staff, force us to queue outside and even let us book online but if the appointments aren't there then no progress has been made. I had to queue a couple of weeks ago with tonsilitis, almost fainted (as I hadn't eaten anything obviously) and was told that there is only one Doctor starting at 8.30am and only two doctors all day. I don't understand it, all the GP surgeries I have been with before have at least 4 or 5. I just wanted to check if they're tackling the full extent of their problems. Thanks!
  5. Hi, The day time rate is usually less even though they actually have to do a lot more. I have paid ?8/hr during the day and then it's increased to ?10/hr in the evening.
  6. Hello, I'm trying to organise a weekend away with some friends who also have children (ages 1-4). The guys want to play golf, the girls want a spa and the kids need space and 1 or 2 interesting activities nearby. Is anyone able to recommend somewhere suitable? Preferably self-catering to keeps costs down and to avoid needing babysitters in the evenings. Oh, and the general area would need to be between here and Bristol but can go down to Dorset / Hampshire. Thank you!

  8. DMC Healthcare, why do you continue to ignore the fact that patients are telling you they can't see a Doctor when they need to? Do you admit that it isn't working in its current form and you need more Doctors? How else do you explain peoples' frustrations at not being able to get much needed appointments? And please don't regurgitate the point on people not cancelling their appointments - the point is that if those people attended their appointments there still wouldn't be enough for the Public you're supposed to serve.

Wow, after 1hr 25 mins I finally got through only to be told that all appointments including telephone consultations have gone and I should try the walk-in centre. I give up!!
  10. I'm so sick of DMC. I have been ill (nausea and vomiting) for over a week now but have avoided trying to get an appointment at DMC (mainly because I should see if the symptoms go away naturally). However, I'm at the point now where I should see or speak to a doctor. Tried getting through since 8am but the lines are continuously engaged. So I can't even get through to the subsequent long telephone queue. I definitely don't have the energy to walk down and queue in the cold (which is what I would usually do if I need an app). I have already complained to the NHS email add in James' post.
  11. I have only been working with Jen for just over 3 weeks and I have already lost 3kg and feel so much fitter and stronger. Her style is motivational without being aggressive which is perfect for me. I know PT is more expensive than going to the gym but Jen will get more out of you in a session than you would training on your own. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Jen for Personal Training.
  12. Couldn't agree more with this. A car came flying down Landells Road as I was trying to get my toddler out of the car. I moved my hand up and down and mouthed to them to slow down but they just beeped at me and carried on speeding down the Road...Frustrating!
  13. Can anyone recommend a good spa resort / Hotel near London (preferably Surrey or kent). I know some Hotels state they're a Spa Resort but when you get there it can be pretty measley so I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good place. Thanks!
  14. Does she have children? Your case below I'm sure is extremely rare and I don't know of any Parent who be so bold. I can't understand why Mums (I refuse to use the phrase 'Yummy Mummies', it's actually quite patronising) are often being abused on this Forum. I am now back at work but my year on Maternity Leave started out as an unbelievably lonely and daunting time for me and being able to go for a coffee with a few other Mums was a lifesaver. You can't spend all your time in baby yoga classes or you'll go mad. You need some normal adult conversation and perhaps much to many people's surprise we can't actually afford lunch out every day / week! onthemove123 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My mates aren't sexist, and the comments made > about the women who shared a pot of coffee came > from a WOMAN! > > The ladies I refer to are the ones who seem to > take over the pubs at the weekends with their > snotty male partners who are working in the city > during the week, earning thousands, but just not > that much that they can afford to live in Clapham > or Notting Hill, so then end up in East Dulwich. > These are the sort of people who are disrespectful > to regulars who drink at the locals pubs all the > time (and before you ask, no we're not > alcoholics). 15. Can I ask if all those people who have been burgled had a burglar alarm? I know they're not always popular but just wondered if they're working as a deterent in the area.
  16. Jeremy, I completely agree and was about to post the same!
  17. Not sure it could have been fireworks because there was only one bang. I agree with MrBen that it sounded like a gunshot or an engine blow.
  18. Did anyone else hear the loud bang on Landells Road last night at around 10pm? Just wondered what it was...it was really loud!
