  1. I've got one spare ticket for Ars V Everton this sat - Upper East - face value. Anyone interested?
  2. Just want you to know how much you guys are appreciated. Enjoy your break!
  3. When are you coming over? Think you need to start applying now for next year!
  4. Yes, great Chorizo, And? The chilli dogs in Northcross Rd Butchers van in Northcross Rd, The record stall in Northcross Rd In fact, Nothcross Rd. The cheese from Cheese Box Wine from Blue and Greens Nisha in Vals. Sushi girl on Saturday Muscles from Moxtons Peckham Rye and Dulwich park and running in-between Most of my neighbours, most of the time, most of this forum and not having to pay to park. Snorky and Louisa (even if they are the same person) The 40, 176, 185 when they run well. Forest Hill Station, Peckham Rye Station and one day I guess I?ll even use East Dulwich. The furniture shop in Honor Oak and the picture framers opposite (it is close, give me a break) And then there?s the pubs? I rather like The Mag, the Castle, The Palmerstone, The Herne, and there?s a few I haven?t tried. I even like the staff in Mrs Robinson. I even like Mrs Robinson. Yup, I like East Dulwich and I haven?t even been to the forum drinks yet.
  5. I got a train from Sutton to Forest Hill and then a bus down the road. Had to wait half an hour for the train but total around an hour. Sorry.
  6. Seems to me we have two choices when confronted with something we don?t like, either try to make it better or pass on by. Passing on by and moaning about it later is pointless and boring.

Thanks. PR. Best post I?ve seen on here. Exactly the point.
  8. Yup, but if you ask for something and can?t get to it she, or one of the other people who work there, will always get it for you. In fact when she didn?t have something I wanted she told me how to make it!
  9. Its not so much the lack of space as the way they use it. Much less space in Val?s up near the Plough but shopping in there is a pleasure. Here?s an idea for the coop ? put ice cream in the ice cream cabinet. And maybe chickens in the cool meat cabinet rather than on the floor next to it?
  10. I always think that strip, so close to the Rye, has tons of potential. Its already got a really good Italian restaurant and an excellent caf?. The barbers is good, friendly and top value, the post office/newsagent friendly, well stocked and relatively queue free. Its got a bookie, so ???? should be happy, and a helpfully DIY store with a sense of humour that must be in the running for the Ronnie Barker Four Candles Entertainment in Retail Award. And the Herne is just around the corner in case you want a good burger and a moan about the service But? But the co op is a nightmare and the area in front of the shops is a desolate strip of concrete littered with trade refuse bins. A few trees, some street furniture, a little imagination and a store front for bon3yrad to flog his ready cooked meals and it could become somewhere people chose to go. What would that take? Another thread probably.
  11. Yup, it is awful. In fact it seems to have got worse. They tried to charge me ?3.60 for a Guardian and a Starbar yesterday. Now unless there is a new system of fines for being a middle class liberal gannet? I gave up trying to explain that it couldn?t possibly be that much and just bought the paper which had a price on the front which left no room for negotiation.
  12. This thread seems to have become a bit bizarre. Is it really surprising that people who live in a relatively quiet residential area, with a local pub, curry house and a few shops are upset when the pub mutates into a late-night venue complete with late night noise and, at the very least, a perceived threat to their personal safety? Not crazy at all.

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Blimey, sorry, just trying to be funny, clearly > fell on stony ground, sorry sorry sorry :-$ > > Will wipe myself off the face of the earth > immediately :-$ > > Memo to self: Must stop apologising Apologising is a good thing to do when, after the event, you realise that you have done something that may upset, cause offence or whatever. Writing a smug, pedantic email pointing out a typo in someone else?s message and then writing ?sorry, sorry, sorry? at the end is something else. It is acknowledging fault and excusing yourself. If, at that point you were sorry you wouldn?t press send. Am I being over sensitive? Maybe. Like many people who were subjected to crap educations I need to work hard to be vigilant in my use of written English. It was only as an adult that someone offered me fairly unhelpful label of dyspraxia. However, I am a stubborn bugger and when it maters I am disciplined enough to be vigilant. On a public forum, after a couple of rums I may relax a little, I may make a couple of mistakes. Your message reminded me of every small minded teacher who plagued my early years taking delight in errors of spelling or presentation and ignoring the content. If you feel the need to say sorry before you do something maybe you should consider not doing it?
  14. Yup, Peckham Rye, organised by friends of Peckham Rye, not the park. Of course, could be a completely different dog show.
