  1. No. You are quite wrong. It does not "reek" of (I think you mean of rather than if) self interest". The posting explains that the meeting was aimed at discussing design.
  2. No it doesn't - it means at a design meeting concentrate on design.
  3. The mural is by Goose Green swings, on the side of a house facing the big swings. As for what it is - try http://www.londonersworld.com/cowfeature.html a good pic there. (hope the link works; if not just google blake mural dulwich and you can't miss it).JM
  4. I was happy to see that the slide (that was, I think nicked several months ago) has been replaced at Goose Green Swings. Workmen fixed it on Xmas Eve. Not much use, I know, when it's chucking it down with rain like today....but there you go.
  5. I have a 5 year old Vespa ET4 125. I commute to the West End on it. Would like to do my test and get a big bike...will maybe have a word with Father Christmas about thst.
  6. The following get me, for a variety of reasons:- Sparky's Dream - Teenage Fanclub Standing Here - Stone Roses Last Night I Dreamt - Smiths/Morrissey (I prefer Morrissey's live versions)and "Say nighty-night and kiss me Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me While I'm alone and blue as can be Dream a little dream of me" (which my mum used to sing to get me off to sleep) To stem the flow of tears I think of Phil Collins - mentioned above - as my good friend Tom marked his best porno vid "Phil Collins" safe in the knowledge that no one would ever bother remove it from his shelf.
  7. Agree with you David_Carnell, Harveys Sussex Best/Bitter is top notch. They do a good pint at the Royal Oak on Tabard Street 5-10 mins walk from London Bridge. I'm finding it difficult to get a decent pint of bitter in ED. If my memory smc I've had decent pints of Timothy Taylor's Landlord in the Gowlett, Herne Tavern and Magdala fairly recently. Was pleasantly surprised at the range of beers on offer in the revamped Plough. Had some tasty Leffe in the Rye Hotel a while back, too. Cheers.JM
  8. Went to the Latitude Festival at the weekend. Personal favourites were Seasick Steve and Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip (they both, I think, have myspace pages). Mockney - saw your BSP post earlier; "Carrion" on Later is superb. As a fan you've probably seen it but here it is:- (sorry - can't do the clever link stuff)
  9. I have scrolled through 8 pages and I don't think anyone has actually said they have seen Linda Barker in East Dulwich. I have. On Tuesday evening she was walking up Lordship Lane, past the EDT.JM
  10. I think Mumra is on the right track. It depends on the context. After football, no dinner because of too many beers, and needing a rapid snack the gluten-free custard creams I found in the cupboard really hit the spot. I thought they would taste like cardboard. On reflection I think Mrs Mac stocks them for our coeliac friends so I'd best replenish...JM
  11. Wow DM - you are quick! I got them on Saturday morning from the lady who has a stall...you must know it...also does freshly squeezed OJ(that was good too)..not far from the nice lady who sells fudge. Do give them a try.JM
  12. This thread has gone wonderfully off piste. I'm enjoying it. Asset - you are my fave!>:D< Four wheels rule. I'm too big for my daughter's mamas & papas, so I can't vouch for how comfortable it is. She seems happy though. Sorry folks - I'm struggling for gossip too! Naff all on telly tonight.......JM P.S. DM - I note your coffee travelling with interest. Respect! I have been to Guatemala though. Guatemalan beans from the nice lady on Northcross Road, ground at home, take some beating ;-)
  13. Asset - this is a top thread, don't beat yourself up! It seems v hard to find a photo booth locally (and even elsewhere -couldn't find one in the West End recently-not at Bond St/Oxford St tubes nor on Oxford Street). Would prefer to pay the local photo shops, but have had their photos rejected by the passport office. The photo me booth website supposedly has a "find your nearest booth" service coming soon...but it has said that for a good few months.Good luck.JM
  14. Shaggy - the one in Peckham Tom mentions is Honda Riders 02 7732 44 66. I would recommend them too. I have wheeled my scooter there from Crystal Palace Road (hard work but just about do-able!). I have also arranged for them to get someone to pick it up from my house and delvier it to them (I think their mate charged ?20). I had problems with my Vespa battery - I suggest you just get them to fit a new one. Dell Autos (Hansler Road I think) also helped me out once as they have a portable battery charger/tester, when I rocked up and gave them a sob story (I think I bunged John a tenner for his time). Good luck. JM
  15. I've been on 3 for a year or so with no probs. Downloading from 3 music store is easy..if you are bothered about that. Have used the phone abroad too...I've never had to bother with customer services...If you have found a good deal, go for it. You can check your usage, time left etc etc easily. JM
  16. Hey faggot boy! Only joking BR, but I think I may have encountered the same gentleman. I was walking from goose green swings about a fortnight ago with my 3yr old son and a chap went past us on a bike and said quite loudly "you dirty little pervert". I didn't want to get "bladed" and I restrained my son who was tempted to give him a good kicking with his crocs...so I let it pass. But I too was baffled like you...but sticks and stones and all that. All good wishes JM
  17. http://www.myspace.com/lesacvspip this is a demo of "thou shalt always kill" - dan le sac vs scroobius pip. it is not out yet. other than that i am delving into the past (cure, ride, grandmaster flash et al.). JM
  18. Callow Master Locksmiths. 020 8299 4737. 98a Lordship Lane, London, SE22 8HF - did mine a while back think they are still there, near gourmet burger king
