Found a kids bike today, red BTwin bike, clearly well used/ loved. Just left by the road, so may have been forgotten/ stolen. Have put in safe place and will let the police know too. If you think it might be yours please contact with description as there are plenty of identifying marks we can use to confirm ownership.

One traumatised mum will be very grateful if someone can hand it in as the emotions are very high for our only, much loved LOL doll. #firstworldproblems

Knight & Sons. Waste removal. Recommendation.
woodyhamster replied to domesticgoddess's topic in Reviews
Cracking service from Paul this week. Quick to respond, great communication and very reasonable rate (much cheaper than others who quoted) I couldn't move the building waste to the front garden in time for when they wanted to collect, so Paul offered to collect from the back garden, arrived promptly and his team swept up leaving the place lovely and neat afterwards. Won't use anyone else now I know you can get this level of service for such a reasonable price. -

Posting for a friend : Please help us to find our puppy Daisy. She got scared today and slipped her collar near the Horniman museum. Daisy is 4 months old, tan coloured with large alert ears (she is a Podenco). She is micro chipped. Please report any sightings to 07794 029411. She is a lovely non-aggressive dog so if sighted please try to capture her. Many thanks

Recommendation for Critter Solutions Pest Control
woodyhamster replied to red14's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Just had Roger round to deal with a wasps nest. He came round immediately as we have a little one, was informative, polite, friendly and very reasonable rates. Will definitely use again. Thanks Roger. -
I've used Dave and his team repeatedly over the last few years. He's now thoroughly painted the inside and outside of our house - great prices, great team of painters and honest and reliable. We had a few occasions where jobs turned or to be more involved or costly than planned or quoted. Dave talked it through with me, worked it out and found ways to stick to the quote. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dave Franklin and his painters +44 7956 688622

I use EDF to find all trades....came up trumps again with Kaysie (07596 150571) He came to solve a problem with a tripping fusebox. Was so thorough and nice that I asked him to come back and install some outdoor electrics for us.reasonably priced, thorough and an absolute gent. Will definitely use again.

Recommended Roofer / Roofing Specialist - RJP (Russell Perring) Roofing
woodyhamster replied to Stu's topic in Reviews
Got Russell round a few months ago for a last ditch effort to resolve a recurrent leak that six others roofers had failed to fix. After trying various solutions all of them eventually said the chimney was the problem and quoted huge amounts to take the chimney down. This felt a bit extreme - especially as neighbours have removed their chimneys and still have problems. Russell offered a solution and was so confident it would work he said he wouldn't charge if it didn't work. He fixed it in October, and came back a few weeks ago to complete some other work for us. He's busy, but if you're patient and nudge him nicely he will fit you in. His fix has worked and after numerous bad experiences with roofers we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Busy, but hardworking and reliable. We won't use anyone else now. -
Russell Perring. Radio Silence. Help!
woodyhamster replied to ynwa's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hi, I got a quote from Russell around the same time as you ... Finally got the work done a couple of weeks ago. He's busy, but worth waiting for. Try nudging him nicely via text, worked for me and very happy with the job he's done. He seems to have finally fixed a leak that six other roofers have failed to fix, they all blamed the chimney and advised taking it down (v costly and felt unnecessary). Russell offered to fix it and not charge if his fix didn't work (he was confident in his ability!). he did that work in November and it seems to have worked. He finally came back for the less urgent quoted work a few weeks ago.... So he's busy but definitely still working. Good luck! -

Three kids scooters stolen
woodyhamster replied to woodyhamster's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks for your responses everyone. It's probably not fair to mention the nursery name as they weren't at fault but it was near Peckham Rye park. I'll ask the other parents about the colours of their scooters but ours was blue with agreed/yellow footbrake at the back. Very old and well used. I'll take a look on mundania and see if it's still there. Thanks! -
Sadly, three micro scooters belonging to 2 and 3 year olds were stolen from their nursery garden today. In the forlorn hope that they've been abandoned somewhere, can anyone let us know if you spot them please. It's a sad day when your two year asks why a stranger would take her scooter away....

Swimming classes for 2 year olds
woodyhamster replied to woodyhamster's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Really helpful and very much appreciated. I've been looking into each of them and think I now have a solution. Thanks once again -
Hi everyone, We've been doing waterbabies with our daughter for 18mths but the location she attends is closing down. I've been looking for waterbabies classes in the area that might suit, and saw that there are new classes at forest hill pool. They are only doing the early chapters though, and she's chp8/9. Is anyone interested in attending waterbabies at fhp? If we can get eight babies together they said they would do another class. Or... Can anyone recommend some regular classes in the area? It's such a life skill and we would really like to keep her swimming. Many thanks

natural remedies for asthma/ Buteyko breathing etc
woodyhamster replied to Minitoots's topic in The Lounge
I have exercise induced asthma and used the buteyko method to learn to control my breathing when playing sport. It was a useful aid, along with medication, which helped to stave off or reduce the severity of asthma attacks. It's a useful tool for the right people, but I would caution that if you are going to try it, make sure you are not struggling with your breathing as it can place quite a bit of pressure on you and your lungs as you learn a new breathing technique. Add with most things, it's a helpful tool, but not the complete answer. I would have struggled to even try to learn it if I was surrounded by dust and cats though...perhaps one to research more and discuss with the right health professionals as the other posters suggest. Best of luck and best of health to you. -
