one suggestion would be to try transport for london journay planner (type it in to google)- you can choose the mode of transport - if there is no option for a car, choose a bus and it would highlight any traffic diversions.

yes - I meant the Dulwich Hosital temporary site. Applications for the year 2016 entry are based on distance (crow flies) to the gate on the temporary site on the Permanent School. The fact that the children will be based in a substitute site has not bearing on the applications. The email from the school today says "Our occupation of the temporary site has no impact on our admissions criteria" (this referring to the Southampton Way site).

that's good to hear - sometimes the explanation is the simplest. I don't know if I haven't received anything to my home - everything I've ordered online has arrived, as has everything boring....so the only gap would be things I was not expecting anyway... If I order anything from ebay, I ask for the seller to post 'recorde-signed for' which is really cheap but means the package is trackable.

Sorry, but how many kids stabbed this year in London? and it's not a problem? One is too many. I'm shocked at the apathy. No, its not common in school - thank heavens. But it beggars the basic question of what is going on that we don't know about? I very much doubt that this is the only kid who has a weapon on them at school. My primary school - yes - a year 6 primary school kid - in Herne Hill - was caught with a knife and threatening another child. It is not common, but it is not unheard of. And denying the existence of something you don't like isn't going to make it go away.

If you do see someone homeless, it is ok to ask if they want to talk, but people are all different and may not to talk about their circumstances (would you?). If anyone does see her, why not let her know that St Mungos are there for her. They provide all sorts of support. Likewise anyone else you see. It is very cold and for someone to be outside and have nowhere to go just isn't right.

affordability is subjective - as are the values of donations. It certainly doesn't warrant making a judgement on whether it crosses a perceived personal boundary. It's actually quite offensive.

Thank you Alec for reposting the Wrap Up London link. It's a brilliant idea and I think that helping vulnerable Londoners directly is really special.
