Wrap Up London - annual winter coat collection
Angelina posted a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This very successful campaign is happening this week in central tube stations. Drop off your old winter coats and be sure it is given to somone who needs it. http://handsonlondon.org.uk/wrap-london-2015-our-5th-anniversary This year's campaign We are very excited to confirm that this year we will be celebrating our 5th annual Wrap up London campaign! Dates are now confirmed and WUL2015 will be taking place the week of 9th-13th November. Last year's campaign was a huge success, with members of the public and businesses donating a staggering 14,700 coats and we are looking for 2015 to be our biggest year yet! We cannot deliver the campaign without support, and all donations are welcome, if you can spare a little money to help with this vital project, please either visit our donation site at Virgin Money Giving, or donate by text by sending HLDN14 ?3 (or your donation amount of choice) to 70070. It costs as little as ?3 to collect and distribute a warm coat to someone in need, so every penny you can spare will genuinely make a real difference to somebody's life. When and Where We will run the promotion for this year's campaign on 9th and 10th November at all locations, with coat collections being held on 11th, 12th and 13th November. Collections will take place 7am-11am on each of these days. The participating stations for Wrap up London 2015 are: Kings Cross Victoria Waterloo Canary Wharf Charing Cross London Bridge Highbury & Islington Euston -

I asked in White Stuff for some help measuring a top for my friend and was told they were 'too busy' Some nice shops, with nice people would be nice.

I quite like it, mainly as it's nowhere near a tube station. Could be worse - could get Walmart (snigger)

Suspicious man - Woodwarde Road 6.45am 13/10

you could say 'hello - you must be new here, we've seen you about quite a bit! There's a few people who will want to say hello - we like meeting our new neighbours! Welcome... -
'Afforadable' is subjective and there are parts of England that are more affordable than London. The argument that London has to be 'affordable' is interesting. Why not move to somewhere affordable? I'd like to live in Monte Carlo - but I think that's not 'affordable' - perhaps I should insist they build houses I can afford, just so I can live there. And no - I would prefer not to have an M&S. Largely unhealthy boring food. I'd prefer not to have a Starbucks either. Much is to be said for small independent businesses (helping people achieve the affordable) rather than a corporation in our midst.

Armed policemen on Lordship Lane
Angelina replied to dulwichgal's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
really? someone shot a poilceman? -
I'd have made a very big point of taking a photo (or probably just pretended to) as it is an offence...
-
Perhaps, OP, a little radical rethink on your part could save us all the aggro of guessing if you want to sit down/ will get offended if you're asked by actually saying "Excuse me, would you mind? I really could do with sitting down...." I can't imagine many Londoners would actually ignore you.

please someone make the strimming stop

put the radio on..... -
no, not really fabricated. I had a letter from the council with that direction. So had mine taken back. They were happy.
-
should not impede pedestrians walking along the pavement/ passing each other (causing one to walk in the road) and neither should it cause risk to small children, getting scratched
-
thank you all. I'm painting wood and really don't want to be let down by the paint....I'm going to try the Little Green. And I love the sound of a Deep Space Blue loo :-)

I get that it's made using traditional methods, but is the finish superior? or is it just a poshed up brand?
