Actually, Narnia, I wasn't speaking for Jah. I was just exploring the reason why you got a bit of a backlash because of your 'parent' comment, that's all.

It seems a bit of a quantum leap to suggest that Jah has no kids because he described Woof as sanctimonious. It sort of implies that someone without kids just wouldn't understand why it could damage the health of a child by smoking inside a car. I can understand why someone without kids may not take this suggestion too kindly.

Thanks Narnia! And it does annoy me that with all these traffic wardens about, ticketing cars willy-nilly for the most spurious of offences, that they never seem to be patrolling the very place where they can actually make a positive contribution to road safety. I have approached the school but their approach is very non-commital. Which is a shame because they could do more to raise awareness amongst parents and children of the dangers and attempt to deter the culprits.

I wish I had your courage Woof. Every time I collect my daughter from school and I see the road outside the gates congested with cars parked across the crossing point, despite the double yellows, with lazy parents sat inside waiting for their off-spring. I want to say something, but all I can manage is a very sour glare at the drivers as I dodge their cars to cross the road. I guess I don't want say anything because I'd quickly get angry and it may cause a scene with all the kids about, but I sometimes consider standing in front of their cars and photographing them then posting them on the school website to name and shame them!

It's just the 'cheese effect' Kel. Woof knows all about it...!

Sean is quite right in what he says though to be the butt of essentially the same joke over and over, just because of your accent, isn't nice, whether you have been discriminated against historically or not. And yes the Irish jokes are definitely fewer these days, particularly in TV programmes, tho I do recall a thread on this forum a short while ago that may have offended some Irish forumites ( don't ask me to supply a link - it is best left forgotten!)

I tend to agree Keef. He's just a bit OTT and laddish but Gav & Stace grew on me over time. The sight of him and Becks together in bed looked wrong in so many ways, which made it very funny, albeit slightly disturbing....!
