  1. Yup Woman was waiting at the side of front door, inside the shop. goods all paid for, sitting in a little pile. Hipster walks past on way out, lifts one and walks out the door without realising she owned the stuff - Woman berates him loudly and he drops it back.
  2. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1500311 This has potential, already cat and dog enthusiasts are complaining that fido and fluffykins may lick their paws after being outside , so the council should stop spraying the pavements
  3. glad you brought up the cleansing term KK, I would have been pounced upon by the peckham illuminati if I had tried it
  4. No, not a wind up - tru fact Today I witnessed a bearded fixie riding hipster scummer attempt to steal someones newly bought goodies at the big hospice charity shop today and walk with it - only to be stopped by the new owner as he was on his way out of the door, about to mount his bike . No, it was not a mistake and no, he did not attempt to take the items to the till for payment Theiving odds and sods from charity shops is obviously the new hipster done thing

Im sure the peckham visionaries will be able to decide whether it is worthy of a response.
  6. I am interestyed to find out more about the cultural economy you talk about- is there not a cultural economy extant at the minute ? or is it the wrong type of cultural economy?

  8. The Peckham Vision revolutionary cadre do not exactly seem to be embracing the future to be fair. Rickets and scurvy are probabaly top of their list of demands
  9. This forum will become a shrine, and punks and skins and rastas will all gather round and hold their hands in sorrow for their fallen leader. And all the grown-ups will say: "But why are the kids crying?" And the kids will say: "Haven't you heard? Louisa is dead! The People's Poet is dead!
  10. where are the usual suspects to come up with their own particular brand of rib tickling fascism here ?
  11. jesus christ. this is a late april fool yes ?
  12. Cant comment on teh coffee, but have been going to Andreas's for a long long time. Even though its not actually called that anymore, or has been for a while. its the rare of example of a LL business actually flogging decent stuff . as opposed to utter shite.
  13. quick one before I start prepping a wholsome organic supper taking a marxian overview of the whys and wherefors of these riots would go along with Baumans perspective- to take it down to its nuts and bolts- its all capitals fault the Zizek- and I have not read this in depth but will do later

I cant get involkved in this miga, ive got too much to do tonight! I thought the riots were appalling
  15. Yup, I didnt want to open this up along those lines, but the whole unfolding was dreadful and distasteful. not hard to mtake a marxian stance on the whole fing and argue a case. terrrible terrible days.
  16. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The riots are a weird one. I still can't quite > make sense of what was really behind them, but > certainly it was bigger than the Mark Duggan > thing. there is little as exciting as being involved in a riot, its hard to explain if you have not- the rush is scarey-0 its not hard to see how it unfolded so quickly
  17. In a previous incarnation, I did bring up the press demonisation of duggan and the selective publishing of stuff that amounted to a dog whistle situation that most fell for. I stand by that viewpoint. .
  18. the majority of disorderly behavior that night had no connection with what happened in Tots to duggan in reality, whatever the talking heads said at the time. sometimes you dont need much of an excuse to run amok. every generation gets its chance to riot. shitty reason for a riot, shitty behavior by the rioters, shitty outcome for those involved in any dimension. Not one of britains high points in the past few years
  19. Im starting cycling in again next month *coughs* *faints*

I get this kid of crap from the coppers all the time when I go to the chemists for my sarin gas ingredients
  21. I have reported this post for being too racey

These are the met police, not Judge Dredd in megacity one - you think an investigation into an incident where the polcie shot & killed someone is a waste ?
