Would be good if the workers picketed the AGM

  3. Seems the strike did a good job, thanks for the support
  4. Hoping that all you good-minded people are preparing to support the strikers on Saturday. Time to step up.

  6. Interesting article here: http://www.ethicalconsumer.org/latestnews/entryid/2149/picturehouse-cinema-strike.aspx Please support the strikers on Saturday

I don't much like the word 'Jeez' but I on't get upset or SHOUT about it. Why did I use the phrase? Because there's quite a few ill-informed comments on here about this issue. People have a responsibility to educate themselves before commenting, really Have a nice evening.

  11. edphstaff - you do have support, don't feel you're alone. People commenting on here who have educated themselves know how Cineworld / Picturehouse are abusing their staff's goodwill. People can see through the 'independent' facade and know you are employed by money-grabbing, exploitative capitalists. Anybody who pays a penny to PH needs to give their head a wobble.

Could you let us know how you've come to that conclusion please? Maybe you could read about Ritzy striking workers before you answer

Sure, as soon as PH start treating their workers fairly
  17. I don't know the answer to that, please tell us.
  18. Still doesn't make it right, not paying them the LLW
  19. I see they're looking for new staff there already. Obviously some of the staff from when they opened have decided that they no longer wanted to be exploited with poor wages.

P.S. I know it wasn't you that made the original claim

Please don't forget that they are owned by Cineworld....with profits last year of ?40m so I think they might just about survive. As Cella said, it would be good if they paid their staff properly.
  23. How about Pride U.K. gay activists work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984. Are Picturehouse going to be paying the London Living Wage to their employees in Dulwich?
