  1. Thanks Abdabs that sounds pretty reasonable. Just think they took the mick as my car could have been towed and apparently I could have been fined for parking dangerously if the car was left there for the whole day if I hadn't seen them!
  2. Hi, driver side door scratched, possibly by lorry or van and slight indent damage between driver side door and passenger door. Thanks
  3. My post has been deleted, but nothing stating why? I live in Ed and incident happened in Ed. Could you advise please. Thanks
  4. Can anyone advise on traffic law? My car was parked outside my home and was moved by telecom engineers to access a public highway cable pit. No notice was given regarding works to be carried out and they were not authorised to shove my car at an angle into the middle of the road. After they had completed the work they left my car blocking the road and disappeared!I saw the engineer in the morning on my way to work and he denied that he moved the vehicle, so I contacted the customer service number for the company and reported it. They advised that they would send the area manager around immediately to check what was happening. They didn't. After 2 and a 1/2 days of emailing the telecommunications company their subcontractors contacted me to admit liability for moving the car and then suggested I email their claims department regarding any car damage. My question is, by moving a vehicle, leaving it blocking a busy road, have they broken any specific laws that I should present against them for doing that? They have put nothing in writing to me as yet regarding admitting to moving and leaving the car in a dangerous position in the road, as this was admitted over the telephone. Any advice as to how I should proceed with this organisation would be appreciated.
  5. Mmmmmmm...A state of mind indeed! I'll remember that when I'm out walking!
  6. So why not call it East Dulwich Ward and Dulwich Hills ward. I think it would make more sense as we do actually have an East Dulwich station as opposed to a Goose Green station (unless the station is planned to be renamed!)
  7. Is it absolutely necessary for the name changes? What would be the issue if it remained as East Dulwich ward? East Dulwich Hills??? Really!
  8. Another brain dead decision by Southwark Council carried out during the summer break no less. So I guess they have a team on standby ready to jump into action when the calls to collect fly tipped rubbish starts flowing in. Great money saving plan Southwark Council. Southwark residents salute you!
  9. RPC, People are entitled to download whatever they wish and enjoy whatever they want and yes I am making a huge assumption here that he "enjoyed" watching these videos, but why would you download images, films, videos or music that you don't like or enjoy???
  10. I agree! This man abused the trust and position he was in! He was supposed to enforce the Child protection policy both at the church and school. He should have reported the videos not enjoyed watching them!
  11. Hi KestonKid I think the keys are my partners, we lost them last Sunday. I've PM'd you with the description. Could you please let me know if these are the same bunch we've lost. Thanks!
  12. Apart from the "Dulwich Onview Party" is there any contact details for Janet Coy or any other EDS members? From your earlier post, IngridB, Janet Coy has been in contact with you, so maybe you can pass on the comment from Peterstorm1985 re a "can we help" thread posted on this forum!
  13. From what I can remember the EDS have been around for a long time and campaigned on several issues in the interest of East Dulwich. I'd be inclined to agree that the original members are of age and due to the decrease in lack of active members, the EDS has somewhat dewindled into none-existence. The reason for not having a website, is due to lack of technological know-how within the current members, so I'm told. Maybe if enough people attend their next meeting, it might kick-start the society. I haven't attended any of their meetings personally, and their is very little by way of marketing to publicise who they are and what they do, but I might drop into the one that's been mentioned on this forum to see for myself.
  14. Thanks James! That's very re-assuring to know. However I do query the validity of the online survey, as it was quite rightly pointed out in an earlier post, that anyone can complete the online form more than once and not necessarily a resident/business owner in ED.
  15. James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think the suggestino that Northcross Road market > on causes the parking pressures on Saturday > unlikely. I suspect its the other 300 local shops > attracting shoppers. This may be the case James, but the traffic is still free flowing on NCR on Saturdays albeit parking is a nightmare. Possible proposal to close NCR for Saturday market will definately have an impact on both traffic flow and parking. Don't you think?
  16. Good point Bonaome! The survey (if you can call it that!) only asks 4 questions and no limit to the number of entries! Best get clicking then...999,999 to go!
  17. I'm not sure if this information is still up to date, but I believe the EDS are also looking for people who would be willing to stand for the position of Vice Chair, Treasurer, Membership Secretary or Secretary. They don't have a website at present, so possibly this is something they would look into in the future if there is a willing volunteer to help set this up!
  18. There does appear to be a number of people who had not received the survey/consulation letter and judging by this thread, there are quite a few points that Souhtwark Council needs to consider (which was not refered to on the survey!) As I said in my earlier post, the survey can be completed online and the link is: www.surveymonkey.com/s/northcrossroadmarket The closing date for the "consulation" is 5th November 2010
  19. It would'nt take much to arrange for stall holders to park somewhere with less parking pressure a few hundred metres away - perhaps southern end of Darrell Road. I'm not convinced that stall holders are likely to park on Darrell Road and I hardly think the residents of Darrell Road would welcome this!
  20. I'm inclined to agree with you DulwichFox! Closing North Cross Road could potentially be a traffic nightmare. Another point on this is, who decides on what stalls to include in this extended market? Do we get a say on what we would like to see there?

Or Choumert Road, Peckham!!!
  22. Wasn't aware of any previous discussions on this and only received survey this week. Agree with DJKillaQueen, a bigger market isn't necessarily going to improve the existing one. Maybe the extension has more to do with the 40 traders on the waiting list! The survey is available to complete online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/northcrossroadmarket
  23. I think closing the road is being considered although it's not one of the questions asked on the questionnaire. I think it should be left at 20. There's a good range of produce on offer and the small market size has a nice friendly feel about it.
